I need some help with re-training my 3 year old. When she was only 23 months she suddenly decided to use the toilet and no longer needed nappy's at night either. She was amazing as she never even had an accident. Then about 6 months ago she suddenly decided not to use the toilet and started wetting the bed. She had got a urine infection and I think this was the cause, however now it is all cleared up and she is still doing it. She has an excellent vocabulary and I can talk to so I'm sure she understands but it's like she enjoys holding it in? Positively she has stopped wetting the bed so much but she is going through 3 pairs of trousers a day and I don't know what to do. Please can someone give me advice.
This might be bad advice I am no expert but I say relax. Take the pressure off it for a while then gently get back on track. 23 mo was pretty early anyway you were lucky there. Perhaps say I need the toilet how bout you? And try not to make her feel bad when she messes up (not that I am saying you are) Goodluck
There are real nappy options that you could use that are like real pants - but with more padding. this might reduce the number of trousers you get through and reduce embaressment. Try the babykind web site under potty training. But don't make a big deal of it she'll get there.
