i used to get on with my ex's mum, but i have known b/f for 4 years the end of this year and i've never met his

My Mum-In-Law was one in a million, sadly she died at an early age and then we moved into the road she lived in, which she would have loved as most of the family are in the area that we live in now but I still miss her, especially when Hubbys being a plonker, so I talk to her photo telling her I wish she was still here to come and sort him out

i love my mum in law,from the very first moment we clapped eyes on each other we knew we would like each other,i am the daughter she wanted and she is the mum i have always wanted.

My Mum-in-law lives 200 miles from us, and that just suits me fine ..

MY ex Mum-in-law was a lovely .. the one I have now is too bossy and interfering .. thats why I live living so far away. We only see her once or twice a year ..

my husband on the otherhand HATES his mother in law (my mum) and refuses to have anything to do with her *shrugs*

love my mother in law shes just great welcomes me in the family like one of her own she great one of the lucky ones

I would love to have a good relationship with my MIL but she has two daugthers of her own and is just not interested in me of my kids. My daugther has just done her GCSE's and not a phone call. Their loss.

Well i would of had a lovely future mum-in-law, but unfortunately she died three years due to cancer.

Adore my mother in law. Never interferes, doesn't critisise, never comes round......We haven't spoken with her in about 20years, suits everybody all round! She lives in the same town last time we saw her was at my husband's father's funeral.

Have known her for over 30 yrs, & have only just admitted that we are quite alike, which is why we wind each other up so much!

To be positive though, she is one of life's encouragers - she always makes me feel I can achieve anything.

I like, love and respect my mother in law, but I hold a lot of resentment towards her because of issues from my husbands past, and some ways that she still speaks to him, that I won't go into for his sake.

She can be quite overbearing - she did her best to take over our wedding (we've only been married for 4 months), but didn't bank on the fact that I wasn't going to let that happen - in other words, she met her match.

I hate the way that my husband is when she is around - he becomes so uptight. With me, he's able to be himself, and I don't like the fact that he goes almost rigid with fear when she is around. Don't get me wrong - she is a lovely person, and my husband loves her to death, but sometimes she can be such a control freak - I came home one day just after we moved into our house to find her doing all my ironing. For some reason it made me flip my lid.

Go figure...

maybe you flipped your lid,cos it isn't her place to do your ironing in your house without asking you,she might have just been doing you a favour,but i bet she saw the ironing and thought you were being lazy,so just did it,your mum-in-law sounds like my mum,who is a complete control freak.
