(does supper nanny really replie to these threads ? ) any advice would be great i have issues with my 15mth old at bedtime, its the most stressful time of day, he is ment to be in bed by 7pm, he has 1-2 naps a day as he and my 3yr daughter are both early riser's (around 5.30am thats another issue !) i put him into a junior bed at about 13mths as he was so tall he lent over the side of his cot and i was just scared he may hurt himeself. he was fine up untill about a month ago, when i put he to bed he gets up, its getting worse, tonight i must have put him back to bed at least 30 times and gave up and let him fall asleep on the sofa and moved him to bed. when my husband is home, if one of us sits in the bedroom with him he wont get up but takes about 30-45mins to fall asleep. we live in a flat so he gets up opens the door and runs into the front room, or if i hear him first ill go in and he runs back to bed and gets in it only to get out again when i leave the room. ive tried to let him get almost asleep on the sofa then put him to bed still slightly awake but he just wakes fully and we start the problem all over again. i was told to put a stair gate at the door but our spare one is broken and cant reallt afford a new one yet, but would this work just to ignore him with a gate up ? im open to anything now ! when hubby is not here its a nightmare, as he takes up all my time and me and my daughter dont get the time together she needs which is ment to be 7-8pm just her and us playing. tonight she waited so patiently for me to play with her but it just never happened as my son did not fall asleep till 7.55pm, and thats her bed time too. help im pulling my hair out here !
Sorry, for a stairgate that is, I had mine fitted free by the council as it comes as standard when I enrolled my children in the local childrens centers, but not all areas do the same.
