Just a quick question. I was a breastfeeding mom until my boy decided he didnt want anymore of it, but I have been talking with friends and it came to my attention that many of us, including myself simultaneously breast and bottle fed while we were establishing breastfeeding. I also found that some of us stopped this at around 4 to 8 weeks after the baby was born and made the move to fully breast feeding with no real supply problems at all. Another person still combines breast and bottle and her child is 6 months now. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences, or any thoughts on the matter. I am particularly interested at the moment, as I have to give a presentation about breastfeeding, the media and how this influences whether people decide to breastfeed or not. So any comments, please feel free!

My son, now aged 11, was breast and bottle fed till he was nine months. He was my first child and I was paranoid that my milk was not enough for him!!! I went back to work part-time when he was three months old and I did not get the hang of expressing so milk formula was my only option. He did suffer from ezcema and now has asthma but I believe that he could have been worse without breast milk!!!!

Hope this helps.
