I, unlike most producers of current TV programs think it is demeaning and patronising to spend each segment (between adverts) repeating ad nauseum what is about to come up and summing up what's just happened with the use of a narrator. Not only does it ruin any sense of direction or purpose in a program, it treats the audience as attention deficient half-wits. The excuse is that people these days don't spend a whole program concentrating on the content. Well this style causes the effect. It does not ameliorate it. In the process content is repeated over and over again - no doubt making it cheaper to produce a long series and any value is spread so thin that the program becomes little more than an elongated trailer for itself.
