I have a boy aged 2 years and 4 months who is repeatedly pushing and hitting his baby sister aged 15 months. He doesnt do this in anger, it is just because she gets in his way or takes his toys. I have tried to sit him down and reason with him, but he cant seem to link the fact that his sister is crying with what he has done. He just doesnt get it! I have tried the naughty step but he didnt see it was a punishment and now keeps asking to go there. I think he is probably too young to understand any kind of reward/punishment routines, and just doesnt seem to realise what he has done. I would love some advice as I am worried that his sister will get seriously injured! Thanks, Jude
try get him involved with caring for his sister or helping you look after her in anyway really he probably wants attention now you are looking after your duaghter more than him he is no longer number 1 in his eyes so he is likely to act up more or feel jealous towards his sister maybe sit him down and tell him you still love him as much as before and that he has a sister in the family now.
