I am a child of the 50s and feel that I am emotionally damaged by the regime.I dislike being touched or having human contact of any type.It is only now with the birth of my grandaughter that I am learning to be more touchy feely. So if you want emotionally scarred baies then follow the dragon Claires methods!

I have all the symapathy in the world for you, it's a horrific way to be raised!! My partner was raised in the same way as was my father and mother. They are all pretty much closed books with lots of deep resentment, so yeah, screw the 50s method! My parents tried their best to raise me and my siblings better but their childhood experiences stopped them doing as good a job as they'd have wanted as they found it hard to show emotions and exploded under the slightest stress. My partner and I are using the 70s method and love it so much as we know all this effort will make our son so happy and balanced for the future. Good luck to you LynnL, talking to someone really can help as my partner found and will help you feel happier with situations in the future. x
