Eerrrmm ... no, Miss Minxy, that's not quite what I meant.
If we have to revisit this, I was assuming three or four visits totally 20 minutes a day in total (I don't think that's too unreasonable, say 5 to 6.5 minutes each ). That adds up to a year of my life if I live to 75 - always assuming no 'extended stays'.

I'm with you adman ... although for old times sake Im going to dispute your statistics. I assume you only read when going for a sit down - reading with one hand while standing can lead to all sorts of collatoral damage.

Ah, that age old question for a bloke - when drunk, to sit and be safe or stand and be speedy?
A good point, though - ok, so let's say two sittings a day, 4 minutes a piece, you're still looking at 152 days, which is nearly 22 weeks. If someone told you that you were going to spend the next 22 weeks - 5 months! - alone in a room 8 feet by 5 feet with no tv, no radio, no PC, nothing to read, no food or drink, wouldn't the mere thought of the prospect send you insane? It would be outlawed under the Geneva Convention!
It explains a lot to me. People who don't read on the loo are all bonkers.

Hmm... I take your point if you see it as a wasted experience... But I kind of enjoy it as an activity in itself and give it my full attention...
Does that make me wrong?

Adman - Agreed, in fact Im going to have that put on a T-Shirt. MS Minxy - it makes you a bad, bad person.

Hey! A great idea for a play!
What DID the seven old ladies talk about when they were locked in the lavatory from Monday to Saturday?
If you can have a play set entirely in a broken lift, why not a loo?
Oh dear, what can the matter be ? Seven old ladies were locked in the lavatory, They were there from Monday t'ill Saturday, And nobody knew they were there.
The first was the wife of the deacon of Dover, She was known as a bit of a rover, She went to relieve a slight pressure of water, And nobody knew she was there.
The second old lady was old Mrs Bickle, Her urge was sincere, her reaction was fickle, She hurdled the door, she'd forgotten her nickel, And nobody knew she was there.
The third old lady was Hildegard Foyle, She hadn't been living according to Hoyle, Was relieved when the swelling was only a boil, And nobody knew she was there.
The fifth old lady was Abigail Humphrey, Who settled inside to make herself comfy, And then she found she could not get her bum free, And nobody knew she was there.
The sixth old lady was Emily Clancy, She went there 'cause something tickled her fancy, But when she got there it was ants in her pantsy, And nobody knew she was there.
The seventh old lady was Elizabeth Spender, She went there to repair a suspender, It snapped up and ruined her feminine gender, And nobody knew she was there.
The janitor came in the early one morning, He opened the door without any warning, The seven old ladies their seats were adorning, And nobody knew they were there.

Short-listees Jays...
Just carry on as normal; act as though you haven’t seen them and they'll tire of staring eventually and get back to polishing their framed ‘acceptance’ letters...

You mean we get an acceptance letter as well!! Oh no, I've not been checking the mail. Something else to worry about!! Now down to 10 guests!

In Newcastle at the moment though, thought i'd relocate temporarily just in case that thing about positive discrimination towards females from the north east is true. every little helps.
