Hendryk - I'll second MrsR's request re performance - do I recall, though, that you're based in Scotland?

Hello AdMan and Mrs R, thank you. Yes, mine was the ASBOAP idea. After January, I left the first draft well alone and have only just returned to it. Needs bucket loads of work, but I hope to be able to stick with it and eventually see it performed somewhere.

Pull shapes, Congratulations on getting as far as you did! Quick qestion/s, as you said your first draft needs work, did you get any advice/on going help from the production team? Is the door still open to Sonia Freidmans office for your revised play? And of course good luck with it!

Playfull - let me hazard a guess.
1. I reckons they said: Even though you didn't get through we will send three of our experts to help you with your draft ( the kind souls that they are)
2. I bet Sonia is more than willing to help with the revised play - apparently she has time for all those who failed the final stage. There are rumours that us lot in this forum might have some of her devoted attention.
(PS: And I'm not divulging that leak! Even though it came from me after a heavy night out in the West End - just the dressing room loos you understand)
Oh no - he'll get me banned again for that! What I do for art!!

Hi Hendryk - so good to see you on this site!! I'm really glad you're working on your play. That's one thing I've learned - keep plugging away, keep writing. I think I went through about 15 drafts (need to plant some trees) of the full play - not including tweaking within individual scenes once it was on stage. Good luck with it - it's a bloody good play and you deserve to have it performed. But it's also hard to write completely in isolation when you're at the stage of revising. One of the best things I ever did was to join the Nuffield Theatre Writers' Group in Southampton a few years ago. Have you heard from any of the others lately? Maybe they could come on to this forum before it closes... Lots of love, Kate x

Kate - maybe you and the final ten should set yourselves up as a writing group. You've all been through that painstaking process together - I can't imagine another group that would be more supportive and understanding towards each other.

Hello Mrs-r, Hendryk, and Kate, Have any of you looked in at http://www.stageplays-forum.com/forum10/180.htmlOne of two of the forum regulars have started posting there - including posting some work for review. You might find it interesting. Hendryk, it might be a useful resource for you, i have already had some thought provoking feedback. And i am sure your views would be warmly welcomed Kate Any way, good luck to you all and hope to see you soon. regards playfull

Hi playfull,
Had forgotten about that - I meant to pop over earlier and sign up. I see you guys have been busy!
I shall probably browse a while first before I start posting. I don't tend to like putting my work online - not cause I mind critique, but cause I'm fiercly protective of my ideas. (No doubt stemming from my primary school days when a 'friend' stole my script and pretended it was hers). Shall have a read of everyone's stuff though.

Look forward to seeing you there Mrs-R. And let the other thing go.......it's time to forgive her......and if you can't forgive her.......find out where she lives and go and put her windows in. Playfull

I suppose I should really throw away that voodoo doll now - it's just childish frankly.
And just realised Playfull - I don't think you ever answered my questions about changes in OTTD - would be very interested to know how the play has developed since I saw it, so if you could spare the time I'd appreciate it.

I agree, MrsR.
New place is different...a more positive place. But... I've only posted my short from the early days of this Forum...but I wouldn't post anything I thought had the slightest chance of being performed or published.

Hello Kate, good to hear from you again. Yes, am still plugging away, and getting back into a regular routine of writing. Am glad I left it alone for six months: the distance has helped (keep coming across lines & thinking "Why on earth did I put that there?") Haven't heard from anyone lately. Hope we do all keep in contact. Thanks for the link playful: will give it a good look later today x

Oh yes, Oh yes. I regret desperately that I have not spoken my mind on this forum and have been delicately tip toeing through the tulips of polite euphamism, and now it is to late to say what I think. So many chances lost don't you think
