Hi Lewes,
What was your first one about? Did you try anything with it? Like get it to the theatres that look at new writing. I did a translation of a very old French play and I sent it around, to no avail alas, but it was my first play (2002). But I got very good feedback from the Royal Court, the NT and the Royal Exchange. They do actually read things. The NT got back to me in a staggering 4 months! The RC took about 9 as did the Exchange. But my new one, the one I sent to TTPT isn't really finished yet. It was a short 30 min play I wrote for the Winsdsor Fringe competition. But I'm really pulling it together now and think I'll have another resend perhaps later this year if I find the time.

Hi there, Writerbex!
I bet there was half a million e-mails entries, and somebody pulled the wrong plug sometime in July...
Heh heh.
Oh dear me. What a horrible thought...

Hi Writerbex
My first play, which I'm trying to post onto Script Circle, went the rounds - most of the places you list.
I got some positive feedback, most of it encouraging but no one offered to commission the play, which was a bit of a derivative black comedy.
Are you going try your luck with your TPTT submission, always assuming you don't get a last minute call from Sonia... "We were wrong, Writerbex, yours is the goods!"

All I've done with the TTPT sub was to send in the 3 best scenes of a new play I've kind of written 70% of. Sorry, I like my percentages. I imagine I'd rewrite 50% of that at least.
I've not sent it anywhere yet, other than in its former guise of a 30 min play which did the rounds this year on the Windsor Fringe comp. I've been busy working it up into a III acter.
What's Script Circle? I know there are some writing circles but there don't seem many for playwrights? What's the dirt?

Hey Bex, My TPTT entry was my third play; but only my second stage play (my first ever attempt was a radio-play)... I only got a quarter of the way through the actual writing (story etc mapped out & characterisations - i.e the 'fun' bits) and then I lost the will to finish it. I don't think I will now to be honest... I've promised myself some quality time to 'polish' all of my existing writing before I go off on something else… I’m sure I’m not alone - so don’t worry Lewes, there won’t be as much of an influx on readers desks as you might think. Hmmm - having said all that, I knocked out a 10 minuter yesterday!
