Absolutely true story.

My 11 year old asked me this morning "Dad, has someone famous died?"

"No, Georgie, not that I know of - why?"

"Coz I just heard on the radio that the English team are going to bring home the Ashes today".

Shame we can't run cars on them ...

Couldn't believe it whe I went into Tesco* A large supermarket this moring and there was a massive queue. This is the nation that carries on as normal with bombs going off all over the place - but the tiniest rumour that petrol will be in short supply . . .

*Just in case one of the others was thinking of sponsoring me.

I only arsked . . .

It's really dark down here in London, now.

At least on the Middlesex side of the River,

It looks as if the sun has set on Australia.

Did someone say there were queues at petrol filling stations?
Frown
Fuel prices affect us all, whether drivers or not.

Lewes,
I've just got back from my local petrol station - I walked, need batteries for the camera, so that I can take a couple of pictures of my daughter heading off for her first day at school...

Anyway... I don't think it's an exageration to say that they were queuing for at least 100 yards in either direction - plus they had staff out on the forecourt to direct traffic and prevent arguements!

Thank goodness I cycle to work!

I should have gone and filled up when the ashes were on damn it! I couldn't get into Tesco's yesterday, because the queue for the fuel pumps was blocking the entrance... Oh what am I saying – I enjoyed watching it – I did, I admit it. Big Grin
