What are the chances that TTPT is on hold? Do we have any reason to believe that the whole TTPT venture proceeding apace? Would it be possible that they haven't even conceived of a shortlist (only Ms C stands as evidence to the contrary)? Could it be possible that they have started in their shortlist and have not had satisfactory progress? It's a long road from a 20 page submission to a West End hit.
Do you think that the production team will read this and nod bitterly or read it and laugh at one nonshortlisted piker's speculation? If they are laughing, why has there been no change to the website and no information forthcoming?
Has someone dropped the ball or are they just really good at hiding it?

To be honest, I think it's slightly evil either way - if there's been a delay and the PT haven't come clean that's rotten on us; and if there hasn't been a delay it's bad form that the PT could have updated the www and given us SOMETHING - how many entries, current news, anything - even a 'it's really all over folks' post!
Come on PT - don't want to get all Moonbirdy, but tell us SOMETHING!
I think it's an absolute certainty that it's all over for those of us who haven't heard! It's inconceivable that the production team wouldn't have posted something here if there had been a delay. Remember how quickly they were to post before, when there was talk on here about not having heard.
It would have been 'nice' if they'd thanked all the 'loosers', but hey, I'm really excited about another project now ... do I look bothered
I got a letter from the recent waterstone's/faber children's story comp only yesterday. Ordinarily of course, I'd bin it in a fit of apoplexy, but now I'm so moved by the contrast between their tender words of rejection and C4's silent contempt that i might frame it. This reminds me of being a teenager and trying to get a girl's attention. Maybe all the entries were crap or they haven't finished reading them? Can't say it would be my biggest priority if i was a tv exec and all, but waterstones and faber have done the decent (but obviously wholly misguided, just like that guy who turned down the beatles) thing. Why not them?
No, no one understands women - not even other women. Except maybe Minxy.
I do agree with the Inspector that there is definitely a polite letter-writing culture here and there is an expectation that people will, even when they are incompetent, keep in touch. It is strange that C4 does not feel the need to do so.
I must say I feel remarkably emotionally healthy about the whole TPTT thang! Went through a very low patch a week before Sept 30th thinking I could hardly cope with any more rejection (been an actress for 16 years - use your imaginations! ) but then realised that hey, in actual fact, I've had SO MUCH experience of rejection now that I should be better at dealing with it than anyone!
I'm 100% certain the short-list is done and dusted. I'm certain Miss C was telling the truth and I believe I'm right in thinking that another new member also posted to let us know that he'd received a LWE (Long white envelope?!) and we never heard from him again. I too am disappointed - but not surprised - that we enthusiastic posters are being kept in the dark. It really wouldn't take much to resolve this situation for us. Just a confirmation that the shortlist is complete and we can tick this one off our lists. Are you out there somewhere, kind member of the Production Team....?!
I have to agree with the current sentiments although having been involved in a minor way with short story comps I know there is no way they would let us know individually that we wern't sucessful. I am surprised that they havn't bothered to update the website though or even delete it altogether.
Come on Prod Team - we put a lot of effort into getting our submissions off to you, a short thanks would be nice.
I get the feeling the whole thing is a shoddy half baked operation - I mean they gave a deadline and said they would change the homepage but now it's (19th October) and what have we got??? C4 - what ARE you playing at
Hello Everybody, I'm new here, but I couldn't help noticing how, on the one hand, there is a good deal of cynicism about TPTT, yet on the other, a really business-like approach to getting the work out there.
If it's any encouragement, I can tell you that I was longlisted/shortlisted/whatever and called to participate in the programme, completing filming for it some time ago. (Broadcast is scheduled for June,I believe). At that time, no winner had yet been chosen, and for all I know, that's still the case.
Now they're not likely to have blown that sort of money if the project was shelved, surely. So I wouldn't give up just yet.
