Okay, so I’m being nosey… But I guess all playwrights are…

What genre are you entering into TPTT? Why did you choose that genre?

Me? I’m entering comedies (or you could argue comic dramas). Why? Bullied as a child (that’s the stock answer for trying to be funny isn’t it). In truth, I’ve done a lot of AmDram acting, and I’ve preferred being in comedies, as you get audience feedback throughout the play, rather than at the end of acts…

What about you?

Jay

Hi Jay,
I've done a mystery and suspense thing; not for any reason other than - thats all I thought at the time.
I'd like to do comedy but I can never think of anything funny that I never heard already.

Hi jay,
I'm not even sure what genre my effort would fit into. It has some funny bits and some sad bits but overall it's meant to be a bit uplifting and even inspiring.
Confused

I think mine is a comedy/drama. I'll leave it to others to decide. Roll Eyes

Beginning to fear that mine fits into the genre of "unwritten"!

I've been sidetracked into writing/ polishing a new comedy routine as I've got a stand up gig tomorrow. Just "nicked" a couple of minutes to read TPTT forum!

Just wondering, how would you upload your Muse and would she let you?

Virtual Muse... (and a voucher for Victoria Wine... the only way to write!Big Grin)

Best of luck with the Stand Up... I've been toying with the idea of having a go myself (even gone so far as to register myself with Mirth Control!) but haven't plucked all the courage I need yet... But it looks as thought I might have landed myself a show on a very local radio station - so who knows what that will do for my confidence...?

Hi JP

Did my first 20 minute stand up at a comedy club at my theatre in March as Open Mike, and got 4 offers of paid gigs from it! Go for it!
