So I just entered the comp. but if it was a film it would be rated 15. (With the swearing and the drug theme) So have I just shot myself or is there hope? Oh, yeah and it's the only one I'm entering!!!!!
The hole in the foot will heal. I think that the rule is that:- If swearing and drugs are necessary for the character in the play, then it is O.K. If the bad language and stuff is put in just 'cos YOU wanted your characters to swear and for no other reason - the production team will see through it.
I personally feel that Most bad language that comes up in plays and film scripts could be reduced by having better descriptive content. It also leads to a deeper understanding of the character. But the latter is just my view.
good luck with the play anyway.
I though I saw a light at the end of the tunnel .. but it was only Jay with a torch, looking for the way out!
Looking back there was "only" one bad word per page, and they where mainly used to reflect the shock in a character or to make thier speech more real. The words could be edited out but I think this would damage the script, that's what I'll keep telling my self!
