I am a resident in the Republic of Ireland, does this put me out of the running for submitting a play?
Channel 4 is recieved in Ireland on cable and satellite and is normally included in competitions etc.
Maybe someone from C4 who is reading these messages can clarify this?

You might wait a long time for an official answer! But, for what it's worth, Rule 9(iii) looks to exclude you as you're not UK, CI or IoM. Still, it costs you nothing to send a submission that might be so good that they waive the rule for you?
Cool

If you send it by email who's gonna know where you are unless your email address is eircom or summat? In that case you could use maybe a Yahoo address. Cool

If you're submitting a hard copy, nip over the border to post it. Roll Eyes

Confused D'oh... Ignore me and I'll probably go away - you have to supply your address with your entry. Sorry for that display of my stupidity, vidal. Roll Eyes

Vidal - have you gotthe UK? Maybe you could form a writing team with someone there and submit with them as front-man. Convoluted, and probably against the rules but maybe worth a try.

Or submit you play as normal then start a political campaign for re-unification and hope it suceeds before the deadline? (and hope you survive).

Im in Northern Ireland by the way - if your play is better than mine (fairly high chance) Ill gladly submit it under my name and take all the credit on your behalf. I mean you write for the pure pleasure of writing dont you? the fame and glory are of no interest to a true artist.

FROM THE PLAY'S THE THING PRODUCTION TEAM:

The terms and conditions state that you must be a British Citizen, or a legal resident of the UK, to enter. Therefore, if you are not a British citizen but live in the UK you are welcome to enter. Unfortunately, if you live outside the UK and are not a British citizen then you do not meet the terms and conditions for entry.
