What have I been listening to? why, Mozart my dear, pure genius, but then what else would I listen to? what else would be worthy of me!

Ah, yes, Mozart!
I find the Adagio from the Flute And Harp Concerto especially inspiring. And No. 25 is pure cinema...
This is going to sound daft, but I create a playlist for each thing I'm writing - to create a general tone overall while I'm writing.

You are not daft at all Thez, I do something very similar to you, though in my case I set up a metronome in my head which sets the pace of my writing, and I suspect we are not the only ones who utilise such tricks. Vis-avis Mozart, my undying favourite is the Mass in c-minor followed by my beloved Magic Flute, in fact I named one of the characters from my current novel, Papagena. Poor Mozart, the old dear must be spinning in his grave, doubtless to the tune of rondo a la Turk.

Excellent!
I'm currently training as a singer (keeps me out of trouble in my spare time!) and my ambition is to be able to sing The Queen Of The Night. :sigh:
I got into Mozart quite late - about 11 years ago I played Catherina Cavalieri in "Amadeus" and after that, I was hooked!
When I was a teacher, I used to play a lot of Mozart in the class while the children were working - the positive effects on them were incredible!

Learn to sing Queen of the Night Thez and I'll worship you forever, I can not hear that sublime aria without the hair on my head standing on end. by the way, have you heard the Ingmar Bergman version of the flute? it is quite old now but still magnificent, it was recorded on video at the Royal theatre at the palace of Drotingholm which still uses the 18th century stage machinery.

Justification enough, caicos! I WILL learn that aria!
Currently working on a song from "Man Of La Mancha", which I (bizarrely) came across while off sick and watching Quantum Leap!
And no, I haven't heard the Ingmar Bergman version of the flute, but will definitely look out for it - thanks for the tip!
