Yes, it would be nice if there was a bit of loyalty in football. Big Grin I may be able to relate a bit more once Hull City (English Championship) come close to promotion to the Premier league then have all their best players bought! Big Grin Yes, I can imagine it's quite annoying when big players leave clubs that need them and jump ship to the best teams.

Not that I'm comparing Hull to Marseille and Rennes... I'm sure if Hull played either of them and both teams played at their best, Hull would lose about 4, possibly 5-0. Big Grin

Latest news:

Laszlo Bölöni should be announced at Monaco this tuesday. Frown

Look like Raynald Denoueix seems really interested. He has turned down an offer from Toulouse. A contact has been established, an it seems that everything will accelerate when Bölöni leaving will be officialy announced.

There was a rumor about Santini Eek, but the staff denied it.

About the players Rennes have started to negociated about Kim Källström tranfer fee. Apparantly Lyon can give 7M€ but Rennes wants 10M€. There was a rumor also that Sylvain Monsoreau could be included in that transfer.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Kimmy Kallstrom has left us! As well as our manager!!

POUR BLOODY QUOI!?!?

I'll look daft wearing my Kallstrom Rennes shirt now. How is Kimmy going to get a game at Lyon with Diarra and Juninho ahead of him Frown

As for Boloni, he's gone insane. Why on earth would he want to step down a level to Monaco, when we were just half-way through transforming ourselves into a Champions League challenging team!

Who's next? Isaksson? Frei?

Where's the desire?

Frown

It is a shame when the biggest teams buy influential players from teams on the brink of doing something wonderful... I know that Monaco aren't particularly big, but I feel sorry for Dortmund who've now recently lost two big players because of financial difficulties. It's like with Parma, who are now looking likely to lose a few of their best players to the big teams of Italy. It's different, but I feel in a way it's just as bad for Rennes who were starting to compete for UEFA cup glory and maybe the occasional appearance in the Champions League... sometimes I think football can be a bit conservative, as the big teams hardly ever fail and teams becoming big will crumble often, so I agree that it's a shame for Rennes and any other team who actually need these players.

Merci pour tes sentiments. It just makes you think, as a supporter, what's the point!? When the club shows a lack of desire and capability to hang on to the key players that are going to produce success. The spirit just drains out of us supporteurs. I cannot see any hope for next season. Only a sharp decline Frown

Same thing for Marseille. We have no more coach, maybe no more president, and now everybody want to leave, our little star Ribéry and Meité too (but for him it's a good idea Big Grin). Next year it will be like always, Lyon (with Kallstrom, Toulalan and Ribéry Mad) and the others.

Mais oublions tout ça, la Coupe du monde commence dans 3 jours . Smile

Don't give up, Parma have had a great season without Gilardino and Frey, so there's always hope... Big Grin (granted though, it may sound small) I know that finances aren't the issue here, but can't they replace Ribery and Meite if they leave? From me of all people who is fairly unknowledgeble in any league outside the English and the Italian Premier, this may sound stupidly simplistic, as I'm damn sure Ribery is a rare talent (I hear that Man Utd want him as well), but Marseille have enough money to be safe, don't they? I just don't understand players' disloyalty to clubs that make their career... it's damned irritating. I know I should probably be thinking that this will be great for Lyon, and I'm becoming very fond of Lyon, but I'm sure I'm not as devoted to them as other people on this forum are towards other teams. I would like to see some competition. Heck, I'm sure you will all agree with me that, despite how good Kallstrom and Ribery are, Lyon probably don't even need these players.

Yes, it's the problem, they don't need Toulalan, Kallstrom and Ribéry to be good ! So why do they buy them ? I support Lyon in the Champion's league and i love how they play, i just have a problem with Lyon's president, Jean-michel Aulas, who is buying all La ligue 1's best players. We need to have more than one good team in La ligue 1 if we want a competitive league. That's why i'm happy that Pauleta (PSG) has not gone to Lyon, even if i don't like PSG.
And for Marseille, the problem is that it's always the same thing, we have a little star (Drogba or Ribéry) but we only keep him 1 year! I know Marseille isn't a big european team, but 1 year !!!! If Ribéry stays 2 years i would be happy, but 1 year, it's not very respectful.

News:

-Denoueix is coming back in negociation. He has declined Rennes offer once, but it seems that he has called back the president to say he was still a candidate.

-Gourcuff : The two side (Rennes and Milan) have meet to negociate. Rennes still want to get a loan just after selling him to Milan, but obviously Milan has no interests in that. Furthermore if Rennes don't get a loan they will of course ask for more.

-Frei : Still in negociation with Dortmund,no
agreement has been found yet.

Reading what you just put, I thought that it could be just rumours, but I went on the official Rennes site and found this, a quote from our chairman Emmanuel Cueff:

I can't believe he's being so frank. You'd never see that from an English chairman. It's good that he's being honest, but it still doesn't inspire me in the slightest, and I'm sure that's true for most Rennais.

I always say the truth Wink
For Kallstrom it's strange because i saw him with Lyon's shirt, and he gave an interview in L'équipe some days ago and said that he was happy to play with Lyon.
And for Gourcuff it's always a soap opera. Do you think he would have his place in Milan's team?

Bloody Hell! What a let down! Ok, he's yet to prove himself, but that's the problem! He's got no experience of managing football, let alone challenging for Europe! Yes, he knows the club inside out, but there's no substitute for managerial quality...Je repete, they just don't inspire me in the slightest. I'm getting frustrated with Cueff's decisions. Dreossi faudra bien entrainer autrement, les supporteurs probablement se rebelleront Frown

Quant a Gourcuff, he'd be a substitute for a long time behind Gattusso, Pirlo, Seedorf etc.

My post has disapeared Frown.

Frei has critizised Rennes:
« Je ne suis pas très satisfait du comportement du Stade Rennais. Je donne tout pour ce club depuis trois ans et cela me déçoit un peu. L'offre du Borussia est satisfaisante », a déclaré Frei devant la presse à Bad Bertrich, où la Suisse a établi son camp d'entraînement."

I've never quite liked his attitude. Similar to Bobo Vieri in that way. It's fairly obvious that he won't be at the Stade de la Route de Lorient next season so might as well line up some replacements already...Wanchope!? (Derby legend!) Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

But Rennes have still quality young players, so maybe the future will be good !
And for Wanchope, it's Monaco the old people's home, not Rennes Wink

Quietly pleased to see Frei have a miserable time against Les Bleus and Kallstrom upstaged by Trinidad & Tobago Smile
