Talk about inconsistency! Gone and lost away AGAIN! Genghini in the 88th minute Frown

Get your act together! Why is it so difficult to play away from the Stade de la Route de Lorient!?

Maybe I can help.

It looks like about 500 people were potesting the ban on a rave and went to the police station to demonstrate. Bins were set alight, stones and bottles thrown at the police, who responded with CS gas. 10-20 arrests. There's a video link here, under the bit that says 'Pour aller plus loin'.

Yes, but they wanted to protest against the violence made by policemans too. At the beginning it was a pacifist protestation, but some of them became more violent.

After the match Frei said that Pauleta is La ligue 1's best striker. He said too that Pauleta deserves to play in big clubs like Barcelone or Chelsea...

Neh, he's too old. He might've fit into the Chelsea side 5 years ago.

Merci Greg. The video won't work due to my whithered laptop, but that's made it a lot clearer. It didn't help our team though, we've slipped down to ninth.

Is it just me, or is this season's ligue 1 lacking in quality. Because Rennes lose every other week, yet we remain in the top half of the table, just 4 points off Europe. It reminds me of this season's English 'Championship' because my Derby season ticket has enabled me to see a lot of dross this season, and that's not just the Rams.

Not sure that's necessarily how it works. It could also be that a lot of the teams are evenly matched (and good) so that no one apart from Lyon can get a solid run going.

Having said that, they could be equally poor. And it's true that no one has given Lyon anything like a run for their money. Last season, Monaco, Lille and Marseille were all up there keeping them within sight, but those three have definitely dropped the ball this time.

I suppose if it means Rennes can hover around the European spots when not playing well, you can't be too disappointed. Especially as you have a few records to set straight in the UEFA Cup!

Mes gars, vous etiez lamentable!

How they can put in miserable performance, after miserable performance after all the hard work put in last season to qualify is totally beyond me. It's unforgiveable. 5-1 contre Salonika!? They're hardly favourites to lift the trophy, but we made them look like Barcelona.

I don't want us to qualify, if that's the kind of respect they're going to treat the fans with. Total lack of everything needed to participate in a football match Mad

I'm not that good! I suppose it's because I just love doing it so much, meaning I don't get bored when you have to study the boring grammar (if that makes sense). I've been on a few french exchanges too. That helped no end, considering you have to live with a non-English speaking family for 2 weeks.

Thing is, I'm teaching myself Spanish & Italian at the moment. You do both French and Italian, do you find that doing both hinders the progression of each of them, because I'm afraid that as I become stronger in Italian and Spanish, my French will get weaker, meaning I won't do as well in my exams?

i think it helps, like with genders in french you have to learn what the different endings are but in italian it's easy and normally they have the same one. Can guess verbs as well, sometimes! I'm only doing french A2 after the italian situation but am doing italian at uni so still have lessons, but nothing as complex as french (like coursework ARGH)

I worked in france for a week last year and i didn't improve, and no-one understood me cos i can't pronounce french numbers very well.
