Thank you zeds Smile

I've read the article and it would be interesting to know what exactly this agreement is which will allow him to leave. My guess is that it could be something to do with Champions League qualification. Ribery has continually expressed his desire to be playing in the Champions League next season and this will be the deciding factor in whether or not he decides to leave Marseille. So if Marseille fail to qualify I suppose they will not stop Ribery from looking for another club if he wants to.

I for one really hope Ribery stays because if he does leave it will be a great loss for Marseille.

Valenciennes 0-0 Marseille

An okay result, but Marseille can not afford to drop anymore points between now and the end of the season if they want to qualify for the Champions League.

Unfortunately it does look that way. I have a feeling that even if Marseille were to qualify for the Champions League Ribery will still leave.

There's just not enough consistency in OM's results, saying that there's none in any Ligue 1 team!!

Marseille have been frustrating at times this season, it's the same with Arsenal. Both of my teams haven't exactly had a great season Frown

A good win last night though. Is Cisse's move permanent?

I don't know, me i would prefer if he stay. Because, ok, he was'nt that good, but we have to remember that he has had a big injury.

I read yesterday that Zizou said "Nasri should stay with l'OM" Cool.

i read that article, too! I agree Nasri should stay but I think maybe for two seasons tops, maybe just the one, especially if OM fail to acheive anything next season.

I've seen the highlights from that match, Hauru. Ribery was on fire, creating two and scoring a beauty!!

Cool

Jacques Faty (Ricardo's brother) wo plays with Rennes will be our future player !

We still don't know if L'OM want to keep Cissé, apparentely some english clubs want him. (Bolton and Manchester i think).

Off topic, i will vote tomorrow. Does anybody here follow the french presidential election?

A little bit, from what I see on the news in the evening. I have tried to start a topic titled 'Sarkozy'. We will have to wait and see what the moderators think as to whether or not it gets put on the forum.

From afar it seems that Sarkozy's appointment is a good one for France in the long term. The French economy certainly needs to become more competitive and getting rid of the 35hr week would be a start, to enable businesses to flourish.
With the way it was going France is losing too many of its talented Graduates to the UK because the opportunities are just not there for people to make serious money with the harsh tax system in place.

It seems as though the mods aren't going to put my thread up. GRRR!!

Anyway, the gist of it was that now he is in charge what will it mean for the development of Frances talented young black players who, if not from Africa, are from the banlieues, the areas that he wants to 'cleanse'.

That's something I have no knowledge of. Although in his speech he did say he wanted to reach out to the whole of France, but then again he is a politician.

Marseille are second!!! I can't believe it !!
Tomorrow we will play against Sochaux for La coupe de france's final. Cool
We lost 2-1 last year in final against Paris Mad.
So if we play (if)the champions ligue, maybe Ribéry will stay no? Ninja In fact for me the priority is to keep Nasri, because we know it's the time for Ribéry to go abroad. 2 years in the same club, it's too long for him Wink.

About Sarkozy, i don't think that neo-liberalism will be the best thing for France, but it's my point of view.
And i don't like him, like 47% of the french. He was our first minister, and nobody can say that he has done a good job. He always says that he wants less violence in France (like if it was the country's priority), but in fact thanks too him there are more violence. Like last year in november. I don't like when he is talking about France, when he said:" France, love it or leave it" (i don't know the exats translation). What does it mean, if i don't like my country i can't stay ? It's like if we all have to be good little patriots.
He is a mix of Aznar and Berlusconi (i don't remember where i read that). And the problem is that he is charismatic and very intelligent. That's why we fear him.

It all sounds a little too familiar! Anyway, enough politics, back to the football........

OM have surprised me somewhat by claiming 2nd place but it's been a strange championship, everyone keeps tripping the other up. Fascinating stuff! Le Championnat and the Bundesliga have been the most entertaining european 'big' leagues this season, who would have thought that last summer?

La Liga is at least competitive albeit in terms of the number of inept team at the top.
The finish to the Dutch league was awesome although I was desperate for AZ to win.

AZs collapse in the last game was a sickener, their misfortune to play a team with pride which i dont think was the case for PSV.ON balance though,to be fair,PSV were worthy champions over a season despite their late near collapse.Talking of which, what about schalke and bremen in the bundesliga...

Now AZ will play Ajax to decide who will play in next seaon's CL. I hope AZ win so Huntelaar will be more likely to move.

There was a great article in last Sundays Guardian about Schalke 04. Apparently they are the most supported club in Germany! Anyway, the point of the story was how they are, in a way, a bit like Newcastle. It seems that there are few teamss losing their concentration at the last moment this season with as you say Schalke and Werder Bremen in Germany, AZ in Holland and maybe perhaps Porto will join them?

PSV just grate me because for four legs of Champions league matches they basically refused to play football. I'm glad they went out but unfortunately that's why they won the Eredivisie!

Back to l'OM, I take back what I said a while back, they are playing very good football at the moment and Cisse is really coming good. Could he really be off to Portugal instead of staying with OM as some reports suggest?
