Actually, come to think of it, I'm with you here. I don't normally get my views mixed up, but I don't think Lyon need Van Nistelrooy (especially when it's at the expense of Diarra! ) when I actually think about the kind of strikers Lyon could tempt...

i think that diarra should still go to man utd because he could prove to be an essenstial player for us we need some more good midfielders EG: Diarra, Riqulme

I don't know of any at the moment, but I'm sure Lyon could tempt strikers of better quality than Van Nistelrooy. Don't get me wrong, I think Van Nistelrooy is quite a good player, but I think Lyon could do better.
I was wondering about Crespo. If Chelsea do buy Shevchenko (man I hate Chelsea! They tempt players like Ballack, Shevchenko and Roberto Carlos as everyday players! I take back what I said about Arsenal; I dislike Chelsea more), then I think Lyon could tempt him.

And to Man Utd 4 Life: What would be in it for Lyon if Diarra went to Man Utd? Lyon's Diarra is like the equivalent of Liverpool's Alonso in my oppinion, too rare a talent to give away.

I've just heard that Shevchenko is going to be leaving AC Milan , who's he going to join, then? So Chelsea have got Ballack, probably Shevchenko and maybe Roberto Carlos.
I no longer harbor any respect for Ballack. He's the heart and soul of German football at this current point in time, and he's going to be leaving the club that represents Germany simply because Chelsea can offer millions more! Players on the big scene can be selfishly greedy; they're not satisfied with the multi million pounds they're earning a year, then they jump ship simply because another club can offer more millions. I will also lose all respect for Roberto Carlos if he decides to go to Chelsea.

I respect nothing about Chelsea except for Mourinho, but even that's stretching it. Yes, sure, they have quality players but you really have to doubt most of them like Wright Phillips who obviously was blinded by the pound signs ££££££! Players like that, well most of them that are there are simply taking a chunk out of their career development. Let em rot!!!!

I've been hearing rumours that the newly selected R. Madrid president is in talks with Diarra. I sincerely hope that nothing comes of it! It's vital that Lyon keep the man. He's too valuable!

I would usually pass this off as a loose rumour, but it's starting to look very likely that Diarra will be leaving... NOT to Real Madrid, please!! Arrogant Madrid are one of my most HATED clubs in football (not just because of the Diarra speculation). It's also looking likely that they will buy great players in Italy such as Zambrotta... it's looking grim.
If Diarra is to leave, then Man. Utd or (although interest from Inter Milan is a very loose rumour) Inter Milan. NOT to arrogant, "Galactico" Madrid.

It sure is crazy. For one thing, why should they get the luxury of being paid millions by the government? It's unfair. (I think this is true). Secondly, this really shouldn't concern politicians. I mean, there are far more important things in life than football that money should go towards instead, and there is way too much money in football as it is, we don't need authorities paying clubs extra millions of pounds!
