I must confess bruv, I missed the radio performance.

But I will buy the book, no doubt.

Funny enough, I should have cop the book on sunday when l bought the latest 2 book by Norm Chomsky.

I know what I will do, I will set the book title on my book as a urgent thing to do, so when the alarm goes off, bang, I would just walk into WHSmith or the other big bookshops and cop it right there. That's the best way as l forget things alot Wink

Well done Mr Jah - you will not regret your decision.
I cannot guarantee you will agree with everything in it but heh, that's life!
The number one comments I have heard from people, who have read the book, is that it is 'brutally honest' and that it made them think of things differently. That was the intention.

Hey Bobby, unlike other people, I DO NOT run away from the truth or not buy a book just because the author might have a misguided view point that one doesn't like.

I mean, the Pitch Invaders book was great, but I strongly disagree with the author (and some Black sisters) stand point on mixed-relationship (mainly b/w Black men & white women) and their offsprings (mixed-race kids). But I am open to discussion even though she is wrong.

I look at it like this, I buy a book that speak the truth 99.9% out of a 100%. So if I disagree with 1 percent of what is said, that not a problem, for me the book is still a good investment.

I can't help it, its in my Bloodline, this warrior spirit and the constant desire to tell it like it is.

The way I look at it, running away from a problem or not facing the truth, often means issues will NEVER get resolved.

However, when you confront your fears and problem, you can solve them, that's how progress we made.

As for being a punk Rocker..........well I do like some punk music and the Sex Pistols were my favourite growing up, especially a particular mixed-race guitarist Cool

To be honest I love various forms of music from different cultures in general, but music of my Black origin in particular is what l love mostly.

Ah, but what is music of a 'black origin'? After all punk followed on from rock'n'roll; the likes of Fats Domino, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley (sadly passed away) - black or mixed race one and all.
Truth is 'black' or 'white' music are archaic terms that leave us segregated from one another. Felony Melony (of US band The Objex) is mixed race yet she sings in a punk band. They have a classic song called 'Kill your Stereotypes'. It is time these boundaries were broken down.

I don't doubt what you say, but there is such a thing as black music.

Jazz, African music, Carribbean music, soul music, basically all musical forms originated by black people is Black music.

Even Rock music with chuck berry is black originated until the powers that be made it their own via elvis 'die on the toilet seat eating a buger'' presilly.

Actknowledging certain genres of music was created by certain races, doesn't mean another race that didn't create it can listen too it or perform it. music is universal, but it vital respect and actknowledgement is paid to the people who create certain kind of music.

Black music is enjoyed by many races of people (including those who hate Black people), actknowledging it as Black music is just paying homage to its creators, nothing racist about it.

Besides, I do not know any race on earth who have produce so many musicals forms that unite and being people of different races together like Black musical genres.

I listen to country and irish folk music, now it will be foollish of me to deny the fact that country music was invented by white folks in the USA or that folk music like the proses ain't invented by the Irish people.

Too many things/achievements being taken/stolen from Black people over the centuries, so we are not prepare to see our musical inventions taken from us in this age, hence a majority of Blacks are hostile to the rubbish invention called ''URBAN''.

There's no such thing called Urban, its Black Music, period!

Seriously Bobby, I would prefer we discuss this music thing on the saul william thread created by Curls.
