Nigeria got caught napping not a defender in sight to stop Drogba who had a clear pathway on goal. By the time Nigeria raised their game it was too late.

Senegal should have been awarded a penalty in the last 20 minutes. Referee too scared to give it. Senegal getting caught on the hop following the Mido substitution not paying attention .

It would be interesting too know if Mido still
viewed in the same way(hero) in Egypt after refusing to come off and looked like he was going to attack the manager. His substitute scored. Mido seems to play better for Tottenham than Egypt.

Anyway the game(EgyptvSenegal) seemed to be played in good spirits incidents where fights usually take place in the premiership where dissolved and ended with a pat on the back or shaking of hands.

It is too close to call but I say Egypt will scrape through with the home crowd. As long as they can get set pieces especially corners as the Ivory Coast like Nigeria seem to be all over the place having to defend corners.
Also if Egypt stop long balls to Drogba and can manage to get pass Kolo Toure(better than average defender) they may win.

Egypt v Ivory Coast 4pm Eurosport this FRiday.

The semi and quarter finals of the African Nations Cup have been more exciting than any English game played in the last couple of weeks.

I hate to say it, but with the possible exception of the Ivory Coast, I don't expect this to be a good world cup for Africa. Togo, Angola, Ghana? And let's face it: the world cup without Cameroon just won't be the same. Shame that the Ivory Coast fell in such a difficult group (Argentina, Holland, Serbia & Montenegro). I see them snatching three draws but still not qualifying from the first round.
