Can I just mention that I am halfway through an absolutely brilliant book. It is called: Destined to Witness by Hans J Massaquoi.
It is the true life story of a half-German half-Liberian boy who grew up in Hamburg, Germany, during the Nazi era. It is truly an outstanding read as it describes the hatred and blind stupidity of the Nazis towards non-Aryans. This really is a book to change the mind of any who feel racially superior to any ethnic group. In addition to his experiences, surviving under Nazism, it charts Hans' life after the war - he lives in Nigeria and finally the US. The author goes on to become editor of Ebony magazine in the States. I guarantee that Miss Dee and the good Captain, amongst others, will find it an illuminating read.
