DAK where the More4 episodes of the West Wing will start. IIRC, E4 were one series ahead of C4. I'd hate that I have to miss a whole series !

Friday 21:00 The West Wing

NSF Thurmont

The sixth season of The West Wing airs exclusively on More4 beginning with a double bill. In the aftermath of the Gaza Strip attack that seriously wounded Donna and killed Admiral Fitzwallace and two American congressmen, Bartlet faces strong opposition to his peace plans. Meanwhile, Josh hovers worriedly by Donna's bed as doctors try to stabilise Donna's deteriorating condition.

As I only have Freeview I am totally lost as to where I am up to with West Wing. Feel as if I missed half a season and always presumed C4 was one series behind E4.

Now we have More 4.

Me head hurts!!!

First two episodes., which is still slow as it's available on DVD to buy anyway.

is it just me, or did season 5 never air on C4? Doesn't bother me, as I just watched episode 3 of season 7 this evening, but it's a bit of a shame for my parents who only saw TWW on C4. Why skip season 5?

Season 5 has only been shown on E4, and that was long before E4 went to freeview... so only the old Sky and Cable E4 viewers have seen S5 of The West Wing... the old C4 viewers are only up to S4...

... apparently there are no plans to show S5 on C4, E4 or More4, so for the moment at least viewers are just gonna have to put up with missing an entire season...

*sighs* ... this does bother me, since I love The West Wing, and got freeview so that I could see The West Wing... I haven't seen S5, and am not likely to see it in the near future... *sighs*

probably the best thing to do is go to televisionwithoutpity.com and read the season 5 recaps - they go into pretty good detail for each episode. Knowing what's gone by in season 5, especially the last four or five eps, is crucial to getting a real understanding why events unfold the way they do at the start of season 6.

I'm still utterly utterly baffled as to why they won't show season 5 - they could show seasons 5 and 6 back to back and *still* be the only place on UK TV showing TWW Confused

Phew! I am actually relieved to hear that a whole season has not been shown on C4. Otherwise I had 'lost' some months from out of my life!!!

I have just got the videos from season 1 and thoroughly enjoying going back to the beginning. I missed the first few as it took me a while to find it so the really early ones I am watching for the first time.

Excellent writing - the characters created have remained true and have not been messed about with by different writers.

The West Wing is an excellet series. More4 will be showing the sixth season -- which has just come out on DVD. E4 showed season five and Channel 4 showed season four about a year ago.

The sixth season is good and, despite owning the DVDs, I will be watching. I assume that season seven will be on about a year from now and I can't wait! The sixth season ends with a really excellent episode, "2362 Votes" and the "The Ticket", the first episode of the seventh year, will be excellent as well.

Oi More4....how could you skip an entire season?? Just cos E4 aired it first. You could have been generous and showed season 4 & 5...like putting it on a sunday or something Confused Mad

Glad it's back, the Josh/donna thing last night was priceless but very annoyed at missing out on an entire series Mad Mad

I stopped watching the West Wing on Channel 4 shortly after they started messing about with it's broadcast dates/times which meant that I missed a few episodes. And then one time they just stopped showing it mid-season, without any reason being given or hint as to when/if it would be continued (it wasn't), which was quite annoying.

I even paid for Series 1 & 2 on DVD just to catch up.

Now, I'm now awaiting episode four of Series seven thanks to a kind friend who posts them to me from the US. Usually arrives in the post on Mondays.

By the Way Series 5 was a dog and will hopefully never see the light of day on More4 because it would only sully the good name of the series.

P.S. Alan Alda for President!

So? I wanna see the Gaza eppy and Zoe's release. Did Donna actually say anything after being grilled by Mary-louise Parker. Did she own up to what she felt or what...did she break up with Josh? SEE these are the things that are bugging me! Mad

She never said anything, the whole Josh-Donna thing's still in the air. But they love each other and they, and we, know it.

As Nancy McNally, Bartlet's National Secuirty Advisor, predicted, Zoey was kidnapped by local terrorists and not foreign ones. So it wasn't Qumar and Walken bombed to country for nothing. Season 5 and Season 6 are out on DVD and there's a box set with the first six seasons in coming out soon. They're calling it "The Bartlet Years".
