I was looking forward to watching A Very Social Secretary this evening, however could only manage about 12 minutes before the DOG sitting on the actresses face prompted me to switch over to ITV and watch Ray Winstone star as private investigator Vincent Gallagher in the new ITV1 drama, Vincent.
When will TV bods get it into their heads that DOGs are unnecessary, ugly, and intrusive.
Still, Vincent was excellent and I will be watching ITV again next Monday evening; as for More Four - More Fool them. Bye Bye More4.

You're going to boycott a channel because they have a translucent, barely visible onscreen logo? More fool you, I think.
E4's is annoying as all get out, but More4's is understated, and disappeared during some programmes last night - a technical glitch or a BBC FOUR approach to on screen logos?
Sadly, MORE4 decided it would not carry the all important DOG last night but this "cancer" has returned today as feared.
Channel 4 can stick its shiny new channel where the sun does not shine if it thinks that the discerning viewers it seeks to attract are going to tollerate this nonsense.
It looks like BitTorrent will be the place to catch The Sopranos, ER, The West Wing, and what ever, since MORE4 can not be bothered to show the programmes as they were constructed.
Adult channel indeed: On-screen logos are for children's channels, for bed-wetters and thumb suckers, and for the sort of morons who require "left" and "right" to be written on their shoes.
More Fool those for putting up with this invasive marketing and dumbing down.

I agree totally and will not be watching any of this so-called channel for adults.

You do realise by downloading ER or The West Wing, you'll have an NBC DOG on screen?

Barely visible? I think not - here is a clip from Kidnap Ronnie Biggs. Not content with 'more4', now they add the word 'new' and plaster it over a contributors face, or in your terms 'barely visible in a small irrelevant part of his forehead'.
I do actually want to watch this channel, but I find the DOG intensely annoying and distracting.

Barely visible? I think not - there is a clip from Kidnap Ronnie Biggs at my Clara webspace where my username is 'usenetz' and the file is called more4.jpg. Not content with 'more4', now they add the word 'new' and plaster it over a contributors face, or in your terms 'barely visible in a small irrelevant part of his forehead'.
The URL for the above file is in the form of all the w's followed by the aforementioned username dot clara dot net forwardslash more4.jpg
The moderators here will not allow sufficient free speech for me to give you a direct link - they have removed previous posts by me on this subject to this thread and appear very touchy about critisism of More4 with regard to their use of DOGs.
There is a very good website which explains more about the use and abuse of DOGs on the web - search Google for 'dogs television uk' and it will probably be the first result.

Watched The Sopranos on Monday night. Great, I thought, no logo. Tuesday night and the dreaded logo is there. What is the result of this logo ? I switch off, that's what. I watch tv to watch the programme not to have it ruined for me by an annoying, distracting and totally unnecessary logo that should have no place in the 21st century. Whatever happened to giving viewers choice. More4 has now been added to the long list of digital channels I won't be watching.
Oh look /\ - the mods have reinstated my original post. Sadly I cannot amend nor delete the other post as I am not allowed to edit or delete my own words on this 'forum'.

I'd rather hoped Channel 4 would recognise that More4 viewers are likely to be intelligent people, and would recognise quality without the need for an intrusive (and quite frankly stupidly huge and dominating) on-screen logo.
I see I was wrong.
More4 viewers are obviously dumb morons who can't remember what channel they're watching.
I agree, I do not watch any channel with DOGS. A channel with a DOG assumes that it's viewers are brain dead zombies who need a permanent reminder of what they are watching.
It doesn't matter where it's placed, how big it is or colour, it is distracting and takes your attention away from the programme you are trying to watch.
strange that the BBC and C4 put DOGs on programs when they show them on digital TV (where there's always an EPG) and don't put them on Broadband content where you might expect them.
