It absolutely does exist, but luckily in today's society it's becoming less and less of an issue. Infact, if you have been discriminated against you have the law on your side, so it isn't an issue.

Besides, my person ethnicity has never been an issue, I've never been discriminated against, nor been the subject of a great deal of racial intolerance.

I put that down to the way I am to others, rather than how they are towards me.

I think my school was rubbish. I left school with no real qualifications and worked in dead end jobs a few years. I was unemployed often but mostly out of choice. I decided to educate myself after that and now Im doing fine and can support myself. My mother raised a family, we must have struggled as young children but as soon as we were old enough she went out to work. She now works in a very nice job with a good salary.

I don't think theres anything stopping people getting ahead apart from their self confidence and their ability to commit to something and reach a goal.

But I agree that for some it is harder than others.

Well, I know, from Malkie's posts on the other threads that he has a thing about fat people. He would appear to find them very odious. His comments on folks that went to Oxbridge look like he might consider them in a similar vein. I just wondered whether he had gone and flunked it or something... I think the venom he spews out about fat folk being unwilling and lazy would lead me to assume (assume, mind ye) that he or she is not fat... (but I may be wrong). I have yet to find out his reasons for thinking of Oxbridge graduates as idiots...
