didn't look at it as rude but the advert at the top of page is really annoying with the yellow bits floating abou the page

Agreed - they're pushing this as a serious channel for adults, then sticking this logo in your face. It's ok for news, but not for films or drama such as 'A very Social Secretary'. Channel 5 saw sense and removed theirs.
