Welcome back bala, nice to see some old habits never die. The movie is Constantine (and I hope you're joking about the Kneeve Reeves thing). The movie is based on a comic called Hellblazer, starring the character John Constantine. When he was younger, he attempted to kill himself...just to unwillingly be brought back to life. Now due to this, he is heading to hell when he dies. In the movie, the character's constant smoking results in lung cancer and he is attempting everything to get into heaven. He is a form of demon hunter...but to be honest I'm not to familiar with this bit. You should try this websiteto hunt for a plot synopsis. There are various websites, don't be afraid...they won't bite. lol

In the filmic universe, God and the Devil have made some sort of a bet for the souls of mankind. No direct intervention. Angels stay in heaven and demons stay in hell. The only influences are throu whispers by what John terms halfbreds [possesed humans] - a single whisper can give you courage or turn you deepest pleasure into your worst knightmare. So what happens is that some guy in Mexico finds the Spear of Destiny [grants the holder invincibility] and is summoned by instinct to find a powerful psychic. Reeves or John Constantine is a demon exorsist [with special gifts of being able to see events in the altered plane] trying to buy his way into heaven since 20 years ago he attempted suicide and spent 2 minutes in hell [which is an eternity since time freezes when someone dies] gets involved with Weiz in a plot to summon Mamon or The son of satan. This is a very good film. I was very surprised and will certainly purchase it when it comes out on DVD. Its by no means great but compare to the shit that comes from the US this is certainly worth while and very entertaining, keeping me on edge from the begining to end. I certainly did get a few shocks now and then.

I'm glad to hear it! I really fancy seeing it but have heard very bad things about it! I don't usually listen to critics, if I want to see something I will; their oppinion is subjective anyway, but I ignored the things I heard about 'White Noise' because it sounded intriguing... What a waste of time and money!!! So I'm glad a 'real person' has something positive to say about 'Constantine'!

above program shows some of flim, personally i didn't find it intresting so i'm giving it a pass mainly because lighting is awful and it just another mass produced action-flim. i rather see Hitch instead.

So you're passing up a movie, which from what I've heard is a bit different from the rest... For a movie that looks shit and pretty damn predictable, they clearly rushed to get this out for Valentine's Day...and given that it was aimed for that day you can probably guess what happens at the end. quote: pass mainly because lighting is awful
It looks fine to me, anyway since when can you fairly judge?

From what i seen it not really, stright forward story about a guy trying to get into heaven but no-matter what he does it ain't good enough.

Why would you want something bright, overexposed etc for a movie that has a dark theme??? To answer your question, there are lights all over the set, regardless of where they are positioned.

Then my sugestion is go and watch the film and then judge it for yourself. I don't think its fair to form an opinion on the said film if you haven't actually watched it. It a very good film from my perspective, more so than my expectations and doesn't have that corny hollywoods ideology and shit. It's a pretty dark film. So i say again watch this film.

I saw this film last night.....all i have to say is WOW.
Thoughroughly enjoyed this film! Fantastic concept Hellblazer, i'm so glad to see it on film.
Alan Moore comes from my home town, i'm lucky enough to of met him a few times since he drinks in my mates local. I hope he is happy with what they have done with this film.
How refreshing to see something decent for a change!

as far as movies based on comics alan moore has written or worked on go, constantine is certainly not the worst (that does to LXG). Im still wondering if the Wachowskis going to make a hash of "V for Vendetta"!

I like LXG. Constantine is quite good, I saw it yesterday. I love the joke at the very very end - left me with a good feeling about the movie as a whole, clever that. Keanu Reeves oozes apathetic broodiness as usual, lovin' that. It's a very stylised film, with some nice effects. I like it.

i saw this a couple of hours ago and i have to say i wasnt disapointed! not really anything like the comic, but not a bad thing as constantine's still the same miserable sarcastic git. great visuals, surprisingly good performance from keanu and music from A Perfect Circle to boot (come to think of it, the eMOTIVE album art looks alot like hell does in the movie!). well worth a watch. as for bala's lighting complaints...what the bloody hell are you talking about man? i should imagine hell is not sunshine, lolliepops and rainbows!
