Very sad news, one of the Films that stick out for me with him in it was "At Close Range" he was in this with his Brother "Sean Penn", their first Movie together when they were just starting out, Loved the film and has always been a classic in my books, only just watched it a few days ago aswel

i cant believe he died!its very sad news, he was a very good actor (on a par with his brother if you ask me) and was amazing in "...dogs" and "mulholland falls". RIP Chris

I know he had health problems, but that's way too young to die. I think the greatest testament to his abilities is how by and large he is not namechecked as 'Sean Penn's younger brother' but just as 'Chris Penn, the actor'
Another superb Chris Penn performance - The Funeral. But Nice Guy Eddie is the role of his life.
Anybody know how he died? Sean Penn is a great actor but Chris had enough talent to easily equal his - God rest him...I feel sorry for Sean, wasn't Chris younger than him?

Nope, they did an autopsy on Wed (25th) but still don't know the reason. They are carrying out blood toxicology tests now.
Does anyone know the Update on his autopsy? I've tried looking about but to no avail. Thanks...
