did i ever say that they were rubbish?
i said there prob not on there cos not many people have heard of them....at least not where i'm from
OK maybe you didn't say they were rubbish but there was a certain tone in your post. You actually said "they weren't mentioned because familys don't watch them.....i havn't heard of any of them!!!" My reply was fine because you made a sweeping statement. I take it back about you assuming they were rubbish but I stand by the other part that just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean others haven't either.
To say 'families don't watch them' is ridiculous. Many families have heard of most of them, though you and yours may not have. Had you heard of most of the older films in the final list? Did you know about 'The Red Ballon', 'A Shot In The Dark', 'Summer Holiday', and countless others made before 1970? 'Hans Christian Andersen' was one of the nominations as were some of the others I've mentioned, but didn't make the final 100. And I can't believe that if you have heard of Disney classics like 'Bambi', 'Dumbo' and the 'Jungle Book' (which I assume you have because they were in the list) that you haven't heard of 'Lady and the Tramp' which is also a Disney classic cartoon.
Out of my list the only ones that may be obscure to people under 25 would be 'Emil and the Detectives', 'The 5000 Fingers of Dr T' and Zazie das le metro'.The others get shown on TV frequently.
Learn a bit before passing judgement about things you don't know. Check them out in imdb.com or elsewhere. Maybe even get videos you might even enjoy them.
As a side note, Bart Simpson and Sideshow Bob in the Simpsons are probably named after the main characters in 'The 5000 Fingers of Dr T' thouoght there is some debate about this.
