Well, there are only three to choose from.

Unless you include any film that is remotely connected to the Python team:

Clockwise
Brazil
A Fish Called Wander
Nuns On The Run
Twelve Monkeys
Time Bandits
Baron Munchousan (spelling?)
(Some zoo film I forget the name)
Transformers the movie
Jabberwocky
American Tale 2
George Of The Jungle
Die Another Day

Erm..... there must be more.

My Favs Life of Brian. Though I really laughed when I first saw Meaning Of Life, but recent repeat viewing it lost something. HG is ok, but inferior to LOB.

That's a pretty hard question, but I would have to say Life of Brian gets my vote.

My friend corrects me. There are in fact 5 Monty Python Films. As well as LOB, MOL, and HG, ther is:
"And Now For Something Compleatly Differant"
"Live At The Hollywood Bowl"
They appeared at cinemas, so that makes them Movies.

Missed from above:

Erik The Viking
Splitting Heirs
Feirce Creatures (The zoo film)
Shrek 2
George Of The Jungle 2
Harry Potter 1 & 2
Rat Race
Wind In The Willows
Yellowbeard
South Park the movie (had Eric Idle)
Casper
Missing Pieces
The Missionary
Rentadick
Fear and Loathing In Las Vagas
The Fisher King
Labyrinth
Consuming Passions
The Rutles (&2)
The Crimson Permanent Assurance (prelude to Meaning Of Life)

So, any Monty Python Completists can paruse the above at leasure.

My favourite is The Meaning Of Life, classic Monty Python sketches, I never could get on board with the feature length story driven films.

Holy Grail...
Saw it at the cinema when I was about 11..was an "AA" film...so plenty of kudos in the school ground for getting in!

Well I would say that Holy Grail is the most directly funny, but for fans of Satire Life of Brian is by far the cleverest.

It's close between the Life Of Brian and The Holy Grail but I think The Life Of Brian just clinches it.

I'm gonna have to go with the Meaning of Life closely followed by The Life of Brian.

A very good question. And as we have seen, the votes are split between LOB and HG.

LOB is the more complete film, whereas HG is more a mish-mash, but that, on it's own, doesn't necessarily mean it is not as good.

Remember we are talking about the best Python film, not just the best film. And Python were at their best, a mish-mash.

However, I would ask, which of these 2 would I want to watch again and again and the answer is clear: Life of Brian.

(And what a disappiontment the ending of Holy Grail was too.) It might have worked in a 5 minute TV scetch, but for a film...nah.

And Now For Somthing Completely Different

Mrs Brown opens the fridge and a man, wearing a red and white striped jacket, straw hat and brandishing a white cane, steps out

Whenever life gets you down Mrs Brown and things seem hard or tough
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft and you feel that you’ve had quite enouooouughhhh

Just remember that you’re standing on a planet that’s evolving
Revolving at 900 miles an hour
That’s orbiting at 19 miles a second so it’s reckoned a sun that is the source of all our power
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm that’s 40’000 light years wide in a galaxy we call the Milky Way

Our galaxy itself contains 100 billion stars
It’s 100’000 light years side to side
It bulges in the middle 16’000 light years thick but out by us it’s just 3’000 light years wide
We’re 30’000 light years from galactic central point we go round every 200 million years
And our galaxy is only one of millions and billions in this amazing and expanding universe

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding in all of the directions it can whiz
As fast as it can go, the speed of light you know 18 million meters a minute and that’s the fastest thing there is
So remember when you’re feeling very small and insecure
How amazing and unlikely is your birth
And pray that there is intelligent life somewhere out in space
Because there is bugger all don here on Earth

Donor People “Can we have your liver then”
Mrs Brown “Oh well all right”
