People like you find it easy,
Naked to see,
Walking on air.
Hunting by the rivers,
Through the streets,
Every corner abandoned too soon,
Set down with due care.

I know most people say Godfather part 2 is better than the first but I disagree, part 1 is posssibly the greatest gangster film ever. Close behind would be Goodfellas (obviously) and LA Confidential which i would go so far to say is the one of the greatest film noirs of all time.

The first time I saw the Godfather was as a five part TV series which was edited by Coppolla himself and chronologically rearranged so that the DeNiro scenes from Part 2 are the first scenes of the film and preceed the Brando scenes of Part 1 if that makes sense. So I still like to think of The Godfather as this one long seven hour film and I try not to think of three at all

Yeah, I think that's the best way to think of them. Also Part 3 is not as bad as everyone says, its only Sofia Capolla's acting.

As well as looking a bit thrown together in the clips i saw, Three is irrelevent is all. It ended in Two with Michael sitting alone by lake (where he clearly dies!) after destroying his whole family and even murdering his own brother to protect the Corleone empire. That is the end of the story arch. Vito becomes a killer to protect his family and then his son Michael kills his family to protect his criminality.

I also think it's better in that respect but for me, I prefer 2 because of it's back story and seeing Vito's rise to power as a good man. I only watched the movies after reading the books so I was disappointed with the third one because I didn't recognise all the characters or the story in it so well.

I'm always into mafia movies/shows more to see the Italians mores than the crimes.

It is broad subject. I wanted to pick Manhunter and Grosse Point Blank but I'm guessing they're not what he meant... plus I've already picked about 40 already

If you're a fan of this genre and you haven't seen it already, you really must watch Rififi. I may have mentioned this before but it really is an amazing film. A Masterpiece in my opinion.
