Just been on IMDB & seen there is to be a transformers film made.
from imdb A live-action version of the original Transformers TV series involves an alien race of robots called the Autobots and the Decepticons crash landing on Earth where they battle for the ultimate power source: Energon.

I'm quietly excited about this movie. I hope they do a really good job of the effects, and story. It could be the latest new Big thing (or it could be a huge dissapointment) My fingres are crossed.

Well I know that. This is just my opinion. As you said "if we all liked the same, the world would be boring". I avoided that show whenever it was on, now that a film is coming out, I'm afraid Transformers may make a comeback.
..........z (\ /)...z ( . .)z Queen Soraya is chilling out c(")(")

I find all versions just as bad as eachother. The recent version was worst, but only slightly.
I wish that I was into Transformers though, because that would mean I have another good film to look forward to.

Thats because they hired the pokemon drawers & at the time thats the way every cartoon was.
Transformeres Armada isnt transformers.
Bring back the autobots & the decepeticons.
For the best cartoon action film ever made look out the original 1984 feature film its excellent.

I can actually see the cinema being full of 20 year olds & up they are the ones who would appreciate it the most.
Now if there was a thundercats film I would be so happy.

See now that's where I'd be afraid. I can't see how they could pull off a credible Thundercats movie and I loved the cartoon when I was young so much. Either the characters would be off or the story would be all wrong. I've got too much passion for the cartoon that I'd rather it be left alone.
As much as I enjoyed Transformers I have no particular feelings either way.
Apparently there's a new He-Man one coming and somebody from Smallville is gonna play Skeletor. I can't feel too bad about that because the first He-Man film was such a c0ck-up.
I think you have to just take movies like these in good fun or just stay well away.
2009's a long time and I fear a live action movie is gonna be a bad idea. The site is even taking casting suggestions!
Apparently there are whispers about a new series coming this/next year also.
And something interesting that I found out is that the company that animated the 80s TV show went on to become Studi Ghibili (sp) of Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away fame. My own suggestion would be to leave the movie as an animated one in their capable hands. The story is perfect for them to resurrect with dignity.

Wow I think you have cured my insomnia with that totally useless fact.
