Baseball has it's own following in the UK and the majority are Boston Red Sox fans (It's the Mets for me but hey) so getting to see the wonderful piece of history from last year even if it inolves 90 minutes of Jimmy Fallon ain't bad. Plus Drew Barrymore is a great actress and the eldest Wilson brother, Andrew, has a few scenes.
But if you need a reason it's the history you'll be seeing. Not in 86 years had the Red Sox won a World Series then during the making of this movie everything turned their way (In Yankee Stadium would you believe).

Was it any good? I wasn't too sure whether to see it or not because Jimmy Fsllon's in it, and he's rubbish in Taxi

It's really not. I challenge you to pick up a bat and face Roger Clemens fastball. You'd be gone on three pitches as would I and even some Major Leaguers.
It's the World Series because these are the best players in the world. MLB players come from all over now and when you win the world series your the best team in the world. You've played 162 regular season games, beat out other playoff teams and won the biggest championship in baseball.

I have no doubt that hitting a fastball from Roger Clemens (whoever he is) is difficult, but so would hitting a left-arm orthodox spin from Ashley Giles, but that doesn't mean that I'll spend 2/3 hours watching him play cricket.
Players from all the world play in the English F.A Cup but we don't call it the World Series of football because it doesn't involve countries
I don't hate baseball, I just don't see the point. I prefer cricket, which genuinely seems a difficult game to play, which the players love and don't demand millions of pounds to play
Just smacks of lazyness..there are plenty of other stories out there waiting to be told, and they choose to pick a B list film... Too many remakes, and not enough imagination... Now If I could pick a (true) sporting story to turn into a film, I know what I would pick...and it would be HUGE!
The past is history...The future a mystery. This moment is a gift...That's why it's the present.
