Hello, could people please fill in this questionaire to help me!!

A study of the history of ‘rescued’ women in action adventure films.

1. Are women stereotyped to be weaker in action adventure films? If so why do you think this?

2. Do you think the males are more dominant in the action adventure films? If so why do you think this?

3. Do you think that females get rescued in action adventure films? If so why do you think this?

4. Are men the main characters in action adventure films? If so why do you think this?

5. In what action adventure films do you think that women are stronger than men?

6. Do you think in older films women get rescued more than recent films? If so why do you think this?

7. Would you say that in recent films women were stronger than they used to be? If so why do you think this?

Thanks for you help!!

1. Are women stereotyped to be weaker in action adventure films? If so why do you think this?

Because in real life they do menial tasks leaving the scary action stuff to men who are better suited to running and jumping.

2. Do you think the males are more dominant in the action adventure films? If so why do you think this?

Yes, they are more dominant because it's more convincing than watching a woman in the same role. Can you imagine how silly it would look if Rambo was a woman? Women just don't have the physical power to make such roles believable.

3. Do you think that females get rescued in action adventure films? If so why do you think this?

They are often used as a hero trap and love interest of the leading man. It's the way that us as the audience would like it to happen in real life.

4. Are men the main characters in action adventure films? If so why do you think this?

They take the main roles because a lot of people would find watching a woman going round beating baddies up quite laughable.

5. In what action adventure films do you think that women are stronger than men?

Christanna Loken in T3 was quite strong as she was representing female enpowerment but ended up getting beaten in the end. So it was quite futile.

6. Do you think in older films women get rescued more than recent films? If so why do you think this?

I think it is true but that's only because modern directors are simply trying to be politically correct and not upset too many bra burning women. It could also be a sign that strong males in society are now frowned upon, perhaps in preference of poncy ladyboys who would rather make a film about highschool or something.

7. Would you say that in recent films women were stronger than they used to be? If so why do you think this?

Yes they do appear to be portrayed as stronger but they usually end up looking like lesbians i.e. Hally Berry in that James Bond film, it would be much better is she just started screaming in her smalls by a swimming pool before being bundled into the boot of a car, ready for the men to get on with the fighting.
