I was careful with what I checked out in 2004, a number of movies let me down a bit, a number surprised me. However, at the moment, one movie sticks out in my mind as being a major letdown and incredibly poor...

Alien Vs Predator

It could've been so much better Frown

I thought Van Helsing was okay, the Dracula character was awful though. But I've seen worse, House of the Dead was ridiculous.

heh heh i must admit i loved just about every single second of it Big Grin

its not a film to take seriously i know that just take it for what it is a great cartoonish adventure film pure action pure entertainment.

i didnt even know so many ppl hated it! but its still my choice for best of 2004!!! Smile

If I'm not totally mistaken, Bubba Ho-Tep can be classed as a B-movie. These usually get little exposure when they are released initially, but they usually find a market when released on video/DVD.

Examples off the top of my head...

The Darkman trilogy
The Evil Dead trilogy

You then get movies that get little fan fare, do shit at the box office/get poor reviews and still clear up with video and DVD. Look at Kevin Smith's Mallrats and Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused.

For the record, I thought Bubba... was awesome.

Alien vs Predator
I'd never laughed out loud at a film that wasn't meant to be funny. (It's when she's running with the predator at the end that got me, also that bit when the predator screams in her face and she doesn't say anything, as if you wouldnt laugh or think he looked a bit ****ed up)
When are they gonna learn that they need a body builder type guy for these things like arnie and stallone, seriously, it just doesn't work with a woman.

Around the World in 80 days. It was so bad, I took out my CD player, and sat there listening to music. All my friends got pissed off at me, but oh well.
