Ah, movies from the East..

If you're into rom coms:
My Sassy Girl
Il mare

Both korean. Not seen Il Mare yet, but I've heard good things about it.

Fly Me to Polaris (HK)
Also try a few Leon Lai+Sammi Cheung films, they've done a few rom coms together.

Another korean movie is:

Volcano high. Highly entertaining Street Fighter in highschool flick, also korean.

Other movies worth a look, action/drama/comedy:

Running out of Time
Infernal Affair
You Shoot, I Shoot
Any old Stephen Chow Movies such as:
Fight Back to School 1-3
Justice my foot
Forbidden City Cop
From Beijing with Love
God of Cookery
A chinese Odyssey 1-2
Saint of Gamblers

If you want some adult films,
I'd suggest
The Seven Samurai (of course!)
The Last Emperor (the first part is pure eye-candy)
Raise the Red Lantern,

and for fun,
The Butterfly Murders
(which is a cross between fantasy martial arts and a detective story)

Regards, Maz

Does the original Ring movie count in this? Not a karate movie but it was made in the orient and it was far better than the american version.

You can't go wrong with a good Miike Takashi film. I suggest AUDITION.
