Hey guys this is purely out of interest and not for any film or media studies class. I would also appreciate any thoughts on this topic.

Question:
What is your favourite animation type/company?

Choices:
Old style Disney
Modern day e.g Pixar/Dreamworks
Manga e.g. Stuido Ghibli

Personally I prefer the studio ghibli films. I know that some of the animation is no where near as good as some of the pixar stuff, but the story lines are far superior. I mean films like spirited away and princess monokoe are have far better story lines than the likes of over the hedge.

Old style Disney for me, but the films that Pixar are coming up with (Finding Nemo/The Incredibles) are also fantastic.

Haven't seen it but Spirited Away was good. Howl's Moving Castle was okay but I found the plot too confusing; I often find Japanese cartoons have very complicated plots.

I like the plots, they may sometimes be complicated, but they are better than the disney ones. One of my favourite films of all time is Akira, it is brilliant and a must see for fans of manga films.

If i had to choose my favs would be Toy Story, Monsters inc and Shrek plus old disnet movies. Theyve been bringing out too many of these films recently, they should focus on 1 and make it really good!

It seems that most people are going towards the old style diseny, I must admit I was never all that in to disney films when I was younger, I got into amime films when I was older, they just seem so much more engaging than the disney films.

Cell animation is great. Still the best animation asthetically anyway. I'm going with old Disney.

I love all three of those styles, I have all the Studio Ghibli films, but Pixar is just amazing. Not only because the animation is fantastic but the stories are all brilleant.

I can't wait for Wall-E!

I think the Pixar/Dreamworks films are great for both children and adults.
