If there was an Oscar category for 'Best Trailer' for a film what would yours be?
Trailers that had you jumping up and down on your seat with anticipation...

Hate to say it:

The Best Trailer Ever award goes to....

Star Wars Episode I
The Phantom Menace

As soon as this came out, the hype was too much and we had one of the worst films of recent times. My jaw dropped at the trailer and the anticipation was too much. The film was terrible and followed by mediocre films that were not worth making.

It shows how bad the prequel trilogy is, when you 100 TV Episodes coming and a fan of the original trilogy (ME) couldn't even care.

Lucas you dropped the ball by huge standards.

Spider-man 2. Just amazing. One you can watch even now and get excited. Awesome stuff.

I know you said film, but the trailer for prison-break looked really good!

I'm still trying to think of a film trailer... I know there's loads that are really good but i just can't seem to think at the moment! I'll get back to you!

The only one I can think of is the Independence Day trailer. The Superman Returns teaser is pretty good though.

For me there's been loads, but one I always remember is the original Lethal Weapon. It was class and the film lived up to it too.

Another one was the teaser for The Goonies, it spelt out the title from prior Spielberg/Donner films, excellent.

The teaser for The Doors, the silhouette of Val Kilmer walking down a corridor. (awful film though, pity)

The 25th anniversary trailer for Star Trek VI, it showed clips of the original series and first five films 'projected' onto the Enterpise.

The first teaser for Goldeneye, Pierce Brosnan walking towards the camera saying 'You expecting someone else?'

Batman Forever was pretty good and that score they use at the end of the first one makes it good.

The English Patient - Wow I remember this; very drawn out but Fiennes narration and the quiet Piano made it wonderful to look at.

Jurassic Park - First thing you always saw with every single trailer was The T.Rex making his entrance (happens to be my fave scene anyway so meh!)

The Blair Witch Project - Sparking off a furious debate about whether it was real or not, this was before the release date, the truth being told and involving the bogus website claiming it WAS true
