from start to finish i was sucked into it stronger than a hoover on heat! from the cast to the script to the direction to the soundtrack it was entirely awesome! and if Reese witherspoon doesn't win the oscar for best actress i'm gonna be sick as anything, she was absolutely amazing and i now love her totally. joaquin pheonix also deserves huge credit cos his partrayal of cash was superb!
A powerhouse of a film, from the opening scenes at Folsom prison it takes hold and doesn't let you go. And with the added bonus of Phoenix and Witherspoon doing all the vocals.
It's what film lovers crave, good script, well filmed, superb acting and no over-the-top cgi.
One small thing I was a little disappointed with was it doesn't feature the song, A Boy Named Sue. But sure you can't have everything.

I thought this movie was fabaso and have been to see it twice in the cinema. However, - don't get me wrong I think Reese Withersppon was great-, but Jaoquin Phoenix was absolutley suberp as Cash and he spent sooo long perfecting it and I just think he's not getting nearly as many nominations nor credit as Reese..... Where's the justice in that?
I was stunned by Joaquin's performance as J R Cash! He was superb. The singing, the whole intensity thing...he really did it justice. The only thing that did niggle was the fact that his religion became as important to him as June during the period after he went cold turkey...This was downplayed in the film and i think it was a shame. But that is only nitpicking, the film is easily the best i have seen this year. Reese Witherspoon as June was the best foil for his very dark personality and she did a commendable job, but for me the best performance was from Joaquin.
