Wowow, what a film. 'Capote' nailed it and nailed exactly what is wrong with society and humanity. The general apathy for his fellow man, every so often punctuated with these moments, almost orgasmic spurts of concern and empathy. Changing back to the "head in sand" routine when things become too real.
Seymour Hoffman's performance is the best depiction of an "actor" I've ever seen. This is not just a performance-only film though. Its a great study of humanity. You get sucked in and you aren't let go until they let you go.
Catherine Keener has a small involvement but a huge impact, and she deserves every credit she recieves.
Of course, the film is very uncompromising regarding Capote's motives. The portrayal of journalism and its attitudes are quite blatant.
The only sympathy we are allowed to feel for Capote arguably happens only at the very end during the credits. Thiss is what makes the film so unbelieveably good.
I dont know whether this makes much sense because Ive just this minute finished watcing it and my thoughts are still rocking about in my head. Hopefully you get my drift!!

The most interesting biopic you're likely to see.
