Hi - I am new to this so please be gentle. I am a costume student researching for my dissertation. I would be extremely grateful if you could take a few moments to give me your thoughts on costume dramas, historical costume films/heritage films etc.

For arguments sake lets say pre 19th century

Do you enjoy/not enjoy historical costume films an why?

What is the attraction?

Do you think historical accuracy is important in historical films with regards to the storyline, characters and costumes?

These questions are only suggestions any comments (constructive) would be much appreciated.

Barry Lyndon is one of my favourite films. I don't know how true it is or if it's just a myth that Kubrick, being obsessive, used only original costumes.
