Red Eye - Had a few really good moments but just got comical towards the end. Both Cilian Murphy and Rachel McAdams were good in it though.

Cinderella Man - Great film, I really enjoyed the story and the great performances. It's terrible because I'm now starting to warm to Renee Zellweger, she usually annoys me but this and Cold Mountain have made me start to like her as an actress.

Brokeback Mountain - 2nd time and very rewarding. I've only seen two films this year (will see another 3 in the coming week) but it's the best so far and has great Oscar chances.

King Kong Remake number 2.

A very highly enjoyable and entertaining film. It was a real pleasure to watch after the disapointment of the ROTR trilogy. Fantastic film IMHO full of emotion and some fantastic [if somewhat disturbing] visual ideas. Well done.

Se7en - Great thriller and the twist at the end is still brilliant after this time. Amazing acting by everyone especially "John Doe" (Don't want to spoil who it for anyone who hasn't seen the movie as he isn't credited until the end though once you see him you should know).

Last night I watch The Talented Mr Ripley. It was a torture to stay awake. No suspense, too long, I could understand one killing, the others were done to wake me up?? The original, Plein Soleil, was short, sharp, effective, with a cruel but fair twist and a tense suspence. I found nothing of these in Ripley. What a waste of good actors! Please watch the French one and if you don't agree I eat my flag.

Three Colours Trilogy 10/10

Kieslowski's triple is a masterclass in film-making. I'm half way through his Dekalog films at the moment. Anyone interested in film or think they know what a good director is... watch this guys films! Scorsese is my all time favourite, but Kryztof is catching him up...

Texasville 6/10

Average film starring a tremendous actor, Jeff Bridges. Low key family stuff. Wasn't that impressed.

The Talented Mr. Ripley 5/10

Average drama starring a good actor and one I despise, Jude Law. The best film Damon's done.

Guilty By Suspiscion 8/10

Good stuff from Irwin Winkler. De Niro shows us again why he's the ultimate power house actor. Scorsese makes an appearance but I could tell straight away that he felt belittled by De Niro's presence.

Walk the Line - Beautiful movie. Unbelievable. Both the main stars are brilliant and very Oscar worthy while the film itself should have had a Best Picture nom as well Mr Mangold getting one for Best Director. Not Brokeback Mountain but certainly an amazing piece of film.

This Sporting Life

Richard Harris Frown in an art-imitating-life film, he plays a rugby player who is just plain desperate; for a chance a success, to prove his worth, to get the love of a good woman. He rents a room and is head over heels for the Landylady who has two kids and is in constant mourning over the death of her husband despite all efforts from her willful tenant to grab a chance at happiness. God rest Richard Harris - I really wish the man gave us a positive character just the once! 8/10

The Cable Guy - Criminally underrated dark comedy. Jim Carrey on top form and lots of cool little cameos from Owen Wilson, Andy Dick and Ben Stiller.

I like Plein Soleil. Alain Delon is hot. The Talented Mr Ripley is closer to the book though. It's an ok film but I'm not a fan of Paltrow or Jude Law.
