Running Scared - Pure Tension in a nutshell and totally brilliant to boot.

Possibly the most exciting film i have seen this year and it will keep you on the edge of your seat till the bone chilling climax.

Excellence Smile

MI:3 - Not brilliant or up to scratch with 1 but it was good fun anyway

March of the Penguins - I liked the factual parts more than the wee family story

Long Distance - Enjoyable dodgy horror type spoiled by its ending

Prime - It started off really well and was very funny, but by the end I was bored and really didn't care if they made it as a couple or not.

Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children.

I liked it. Visually impressive. Just wish it had been longer.

Beautiful but Dangerous: Starred a beautiful, young Jean Simmons and Robert Mitchum. A very gentle comedy which passed the time but not much more.

Date Movie - I've seen worst and while i did laugh more than a few times, this is an average fair.

Underworld Evolution - Very entertaining but not a patch on the first one in my opinion.

Match Point - 8/10
Very watchable. I thought Jonathan Rhys-Meyers played it very well. Scarlett Johannsson hasn't looked better. One of the main reasons I liked it is probably the sheer audacity of the ending.

Frailty - 8/10
Very good thriller. Creepy in all the right places. Nothing too demanding or unexpected, but well executed.

Mission Impossible III - 7/10
It was entertaining enough but seemed a little rushed, maybe unfinished even? PSH plays it well, but has no real involvement. A little too peripheral, but when he is on screen he's electric. Tom Cruise carries the film pretty well.

United 93 - 8/10
I don't see how they could have done a film like this any better. The scenes on the plane are unbelievably tense. I haven't been as involved in a film for quite a while, I was literally on the edge of my seat. I guess the subject matter gives it an emotional headstart, but it also gives the filmmakers a hell of a job to handle it right. It could've been so much worse.

Firewall - 5/10
I kept waiting because I was sure it was going to go down a different road to the other films of a similar nature. But it didn't. That's not a spoiler, more of a warning. Not bad, just ehhh. Cue my Jewish-mother-style, hands-in-the-air shrug. Oy!

A Fighter in the Wind(Asian). A film about a Korean fighter who moves to Japan and suffers problems at every turn. Not really a martial arts film per se, more of a biopic of this guys life. He had a really shitty run of it but sort of came good at the end, but not really.

A Tale of Two sisters(Asian). Very good but confusing.

Da Vinci's Code, i loved it, a great story which made you think, it is only a story interlinked with many facts. The critics didnt like it, but i thought it was good.

'The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.' - Danny Blanchflower
