Dead Man's Shoes. Very good. At times its brilliant. Other times it's a bit weak. Plotting was a little flawed too, but who cares, cos its a mesmerizing ride whenever Paddy Considine is on the screen. He's the most powerful British film actor working today. The guy just burns.

Great Expectations - I really like this film, I wish I'd read the whole book at school and not just the first 18 or so chapters.

Miami Vice - I've never seen the TV show so I can't compare the two, but I found Miami Vice kinda boring. The action when there was some was great, but there wasn't much. The story seemed kinda pointless to me and it didn't really grip my attention. The whole room seemed really restless because they all kept getting up to go to the toilet, which didn't help!

Miami Vice - Slow but once it got going I really enjoyed it. 4/5

Cars - Pixar's best since Finding Nemo. Really enjoyable. Make sure you stay for the end credits. 4/5

A few yesterday - the awful adaptation of Ballard's The Atrocity Exhibition; the fine Goodbye Lenin; and couldn't help but watch The Motorcycle Diaries, despite the fact I have it on DVD...

Over the weekend I watched:

Flatliners - I'd never seen it before and I really enjoyed it.

Hostage - The first hour was really slow and I was tempted to give up, but the last half hour or so made it worthwhile.

Kicking & Screaming - An enjoyable enough wee Sunday film but not exactly a good choice for Will Ferrell, it was a bit of a waste of his talents.

Miami Vice - Some great scenes in it but Colin Farrell ruined it for me, as he does with everything he's in. Easily the most overrated actor around. And the scenes between himself and Gong Li were laughably bad.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend - Poor excuse for a comedy. While it has the odd moment where you may smile, mainly provided by Rainn Wilson (US Office), it's just too weak.

The Ant Bully - While it is enjoyable, there's nothing new here. Nothing to set it apart. It took three years to make, they should have concentrated on the script more.

The Notorious Bettie Page - For a film that portrays the 'model who shocked a nation' it's amazing how unshocking it is. Gretchen Moll is outstanding though.

Godzilla (about 30 minutes of it on TV) - Oh God, the horror, the horror...

I saw 'V for Vendetta' last night and I really liked it. Great acting, a gripping storyline and a thought-provoking concept. Heartily recommended. I want to watch 'The Notorious Bettie Paige', but my local cinema isn't showing it, much to my chagrin.

The Last Supper. A group of Liberal students decide to rid the world of 'evil' people. They start of well enough by doing in a child murderer but their standards begin to slip when the kill a girl who doesnt like a catcher in the rye. Its a black comedy and I didnt really like it first time but watched it again last night and enjoyed it. Recommended. Its got early work from Cameron Diaz and Bill Pullman(Paxton?) (Hicks from Aliens) in a cameo role too. Ron (Hellboy) Pearlman appears too.

Totally agree there, while Cars was good & Incredibles ok, nothing beats Toy Story. Finding Nemo coming in second.

Last film I watched was Gallipoli the other night on Film 4. It's the first time I saw it, terrific, harrowing ending though.
