Snakes on a Plane - I agree with the other forum posters that have seen this, it's a highly enjoyable action thriller.

Not a classic, it's no Die Hard ... But a recommended, enjoyable movie.

William Castle's 13 Ghosts (1960) - The old black and white movies always seem spookier than flashy, modern, colour efforts. Great late night movie watching. This wasn't the most serious ghost movie ever but wasn't as jokey or comic as I thought it would be.

When the ghosts appear the film gets tinged with colour and you can wear special googles like 3D googles to either highlight them or make them disappear. Called Illusion-O! subtitled Ectoplasmic Colour. Wasn't John Goodman in a film based on William Castle's life once?

I couldn't use the googles as they were missing from the packaging, in fact the DVD showed heavy signs of use, scratches and fingerprints, I was worried the DVD wasn't going to play it was so badly marked.

Purchased brand new (apparently) from Play, it was sealed but my guess is they're resealing returns and selling them as new. I've never seen so many fingerprints and scratches on a new, sealed DVD before.

Snakes on a Plane - I'm with everyone else above on this, it was great fun!

Re-Animator - There's an hour and a half of my life I'm never gonna get back, it was a very odd film. What worries me even more is that the two guys I watched it with thought it was great!

The Break Up

Went to see this on Thursday. The only starting at the time we arrived. Oh my God, even saying to myslf "Jenn Aniston was having a difficult private life at the time" did not make allowances for how bad I thought it was. I would rather go blind than watch it ever again.

Snakes on a Plane - Sheer entertainment. Never have I experienced an audience reaction like it. Everyone applauded, cheered and laughed throughout the film. Great fun.

Harsh Times - Absolutely stunning. Christian Bale is astonishing, he deserves an Oscar for his performance. In my top ten of the year.

Akeelah and the Bee - Predictable and formulaic but it's hard not to like it. Good performances all round and full of good cheer.

Monster House - Visually stunning, great fun and the adults had more fun watching it than the kids. Brings back memories of that old creepy house down the road from you when you were growing up.

John Tucker Must Die - Awful tack, never mind about John Tucker, the film died soon after it started. Stupid, insipid trash.

Look Both Ways - While enjoyable to a point the constant stream of animated death scenes took away from the characters. Despite what the posters say, it's no Magnolia.

A Scanner Darkly - Having not read the book I found this a little confusing. While the rotoscoping was cleverly done if it had been released as a normal film it wouldn't be garnering as much praise as it is. Robert Downey Jr. is very good in it though.

Casino - The first time I saw it, I watched it in two parts, but watching it the whole way through this time, it was much better.

Lady in the Water - I switched it off after fifteen minutes, I simply wasn't in the mood. I may go back to it later but from what I've seen I'm in no hurry. Instead I watched...

The Sentinel - I like Micheal Douglas, a good old fashioned thriller about the Secret Service agents guarding the President and the First Lady. There is more to the plot but I don't want to give it away. It's a standard thriller so it will remind you of loads of other thrillers but I enjoyed it all the way through. I used to like Kiefer Sutherland, he was brilliant in The Lost Boys and Flatliners, but I'm bored of him now...Is he always a government agent nowadays?

Role of a Lifetime - Enjoyable enough wee film about an actor who Hollywood assumes is dead and so begins making a biopic of his life, only the actor isn't dead and comes back with a different identity to play himself in the film.

Coach Carter - I've seen it a couple of times now and its still good.

Good God what a film, what can I say; two decades after the perhaps the greatest sequel ever made De Niro and Pacino face off each other in perhaps one of the best heist-goes-wrong movies I've ever seen. There was big hype for this movie when it came out and it does not disappoint, De Niro plays a desperate bank robber trying to make a clean getaway from L.A after his team are set-up. Pacino play Vincent Hanna the cop trying to keep one step ahead.
This film is superb, sharp and sexy as hell - neither heavweight actor outshines the other; It all even, all equal all effing Brilliant!!! 10/10

I have. I thought it was pretty original and enjoyed it very much. I watched it with my sis and we would take off the voice of Harvey's best mate everytime we talked to each other. Smile

Monster House. Better than over the hedge. Very dark themed for a CG animation aimed at kids. Enjoyable and a good twist on the haunted house motif. Best animation this year, that I've seen, that wasn't Japenese.

I've seen it, I only really watched it because Paul Giamatti was in it, but I really enjoyed it. It was different to most things I watch too.

Yesterday I watched Big Daddy, Miss Congeniality & Independence Day - I don't really think they need much explanation, other than I enjoy them all.

John Tucker Must Die - 7/10. I'm a sucker for American teen movies, and Jesse Metcalfe is just so gorgeous... what can I say Cool

Hard Candy - 9/10. I thought this was excellent actually. Ellen Page was brilliant. Looking forward to seeing her in her next movie which should be even more of an emotional rollercoaster.

The last few films i watched -

My Super ex-girlfriend - 6/10 - not as bad as i thought it would be.

Click - 7/10 - not as good as sandlers earlier films (happy gilmore/wedding singer etc..), and tails off a bit towards the end, but an enjoyable film overall.

Lucky Number Slevin - 4/10 - Looked forward to seeing this , but was ultimately disapointed in it. Maybe i overhyped it in my own head.

Fargo - 9/10. Class act. Watched it for the umpteenth time. Still not bored of it.

Pirates of the Caribean 2 - 8/10 - Really enjoyed it - perfect for a saturday night big-screen blockbuster.

Football Factory - 8/10 - Good film overall

Warriors Two - 8/10 - Classic chop-socky with sammo hung. Probably doesnt appeal to the mainstream audience, but great if you like the old style kung-fu movies.

After several mentions here I saw Brick last night. You guys were right. It is fantastic.

It has a script from the 50s detective movies but its a thoroughly modern movie. Recommended.
