God Of Cookery - I love these Chinese comedies and Stephen Chow's great. Despite rather dodgy subtitles 8/10.

Tenacious D - Wasn't expecting to enjoy this much though gave it a go as it was hubby's choice but I really enjoyed it. I'd got the impression that it was pretty bad from a lot of reviews but I think that's unfair. It entertained and made us laugh. 8/10

Labyrinth - I have't seen this film is almost 20 years. Experience is still fantastic

The Big Lebowski - Rubbish. So disappointed.

The Neverending Story - not as Good as I remembered it but decent all the same

Aeon Flux - Average film. Not as bad as i thought it would be, but that doesn't mean its good either. Good filler to 90 minutes.

Independence Day - Entertaining...nothing else....move along

How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days - Suprisingly a very good film, i pissed myself laughing as some of that nutcase womans antics Smile

Means Girls - Didn't feel this movie at all

Flags of our Fathers
While I would have preferred if it had concentrated more on the story of the battle of Iwo Jima as opposed to the surviving members of the photo touring the Country, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
Really looking forward to Letters from Iwo Jima now.

The Asphalt Jungle - The original, hard boiled heist film. A major heist goes as planned but it all goes wrong afterwards when the crooks are double crossed and suffer bad luck.
I must admit to getting a bit fidgety during this. A decent film though.

Lemming - It starts as your conventional french drama and then veers off into a completely unexpected direction. An intriguing and frustrating film. I was scratching my head when it finished but I enjoyed going back over it and putting the pieces together.

Godsend - Surely De Niro doesn't need the money so why does he keep making such rubbish films. The central cloning premise is interesting but the film is just very very poor.

The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada
A real slow-burner and very satisfying. There are some brilliant moments and some unexpected comedy (the corn-shucking scene).
I enjoyed the mystery and bewilderment and the fact that it hadn't all been tied up all neatly at the end. Fabulous cinematography cements the epic feel of this film.

Bulletproof Monk - Dreadful from start to finish. Shockingly bad ending. Chow Yun-fat you should be ashamed of yourself. Tsk !

The Weather Man - I really enjoyed this which was a surprise as I usually can't deal with Nicolas Cage. It's very downbeat. Dave Spritz is separated from his wife, can't connect with his kids, has a distant father and is hated by the viewing public. It should be a really depressing film but it isn't. I liked it better than overrated crapola like American Beauty.

The Transporter - Action packed Jason Statham flick so obviously not to be taken too seriously. Mildy enjoyable but by God the female lead was irritating.

A Cock And Bull Story - Having heard mixed reviews and that it was very confusing I was a bit wary of this but it turned ut to be great. I really enjoyed the whole film within a film/backstage structure. Great cast of which Rob Brydon was the best. It might not be to everybody's taste but I recommend you take a look.

Cypher - I found this confusing, messy and rather boring and I just couldn't be bothered. The ending sucked as well.

Festival - Mildly diverting. It's supposed to be a black comedy. The characters are all straight out of the cliche handbook but I did like the hippy dippy Americans. Ok I guess.

Wes Craven's Cursed - average film that is mildly entertaining film. Could have been a lot better mind.

The Librarian - Return to King Solomon's Mines - Decent TV movie. Fun in places.

Casino Royale - Simply stunning. Well impressed with this one. Certainly the best Bond film since Goldeneye and guess what, its the same director, surprise, surprise.

The U.S. v John Lennon
Clever, intelligent and thoroughly enjoyable documentary about the US administration that set out to silence John Lennon. Totally engaging and well worth a look. Great soundtrack too.

The Holiday
Weak, forumalic and completely predictable nonsense. I was expecting more from the director of What Women Want and Something's Gotta Give.

Last week I watched:

Along Came A Spider - It was good but I found the end a little strange. I was feeling like something else was going to happen but it didn't. Other than that I enjoyed it.

Tenacious D - I went to see it for my boyf and was pleasantly surprised but it could have done without the rock-off with the devil, that was so weird.

Deck the Halls - It was an ok Christmas film, some parts were really funny but I doubt I'll watch it again.

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room - It was interesting but it went on a bit in places, and some of the people speaking on it were a little over the top.

Avenging Angelo
What a mess! Did the director/producer know what they were trying to do here? It starts off seemingly as a Mafia gangster film and turns into a rom-com of sorts. Madeline Stowe was terrible in it.
Stallone really deserves better.

Christmas with the Cranks - It was alright but best to wait for it to be on tv.

The Holiday - I found it enjoyable, except for the corny voiceovers that were meant to sound like film trailers, they were so pointless and took away form what was an otherwise pretty good film.

Junebug - It was an ok film but when it was over it seemed kinda pointless.
