I went to see this film last night. I am a reasonably big fan of the series but only went last night as my colleague couldn't go. There were lots of things I liked about the film... There were lots of things that made me laugh out loud in the film. However, annoyingly, I feel like there was some things missing, questions that were not answered and the end open to make a sequel now that the cash cow has started to be milked! I don't want to give anything away about the film to potential watchers, but those that see it- or have seen it - please let me know what you think about the film...

I agree with most I think. The comments from your link, fantasy, are pretty on the mark. Comedy wise I thought it was lacking, but as usual the food for thought it provides you with has really made me think in the last couple of days. It was touching in parts, but never sickly sweet. It was what I expected, but not the best film I've ever seen.

Just a recommendation too. Don't take your boyfriend to see it. My boyfriend was bored rigid by it! It really is one to see with a good female friend. I had earache for the next couple of hours and it just isn't worth it!

Ok unanswered questions was maybe the wrong way of putting it. I think someone like Carrie would never have looked at Big ever again after what he did. I mean EVER! Think of what it took for her to get over it and yet because of a few copied poems she gives in to him. Also, in my very humble opinion, I dont think he would have done it to her anyway. I know there would be no film if that was the case but - They had been together for 4 years by now, seemingly completely in love for him to do that to her because there was alot of fuss is not very true to me.

Also my other main gripe is the way that the Smith/Samantha storyline panned out. I think that after all that they had been through and Smiths feelings for Samantha in season 5-6 there is no way that he would have given up that easily.

And Steve, he really loved Miranda all the way through all the seasons of SATC and yet he cheated on her (once) just because she was lacking her sex drive and was stressed. I do not perceive this a true reflection of his feelings for her.

As i said, just minor gripes but all spoiling my full enjoyment. And obviously only my opinion,... but nonetheless griping at me!

and I know, I need to get a life!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I was stupid enought to read all this before seeing the film!!

Oh well..
I never expected it to be anywhere near the same level as the years spent infront of a telly so I guess I was already prepared it to be a flop.
Still have to see it though!

I have to say i think maybe (and it pains me to say it) that it should have been another series and perhaps not a film.

I think i saw were Big was kind of coming from he said in a programme once that after Natasha he would never get married again, so it was all very business like when they did. He then panicked and had he been able to speak to her the morning of the wedding i think he would have...

some of the humour was more set for a film rather than the dry one liners that made me love SATC eg... Charlotte in mexico not that funny imo

I do agree about Smith it was really like ... OK then take care.. but in a series i think we could have seen how it sort of fell apart more time could have spent...

and more time with Anthony and Stanford

Again with Steve and Miranda we could have seen more of a build to why he did that because perhaps it would have made more sense ... if that makes sense lol

So, seen the film now.
It was great to get surraounded by the world of fancy NY for 1 1/2 with hundrets of other people, crying.

And it gave a good cry to absolutely everyone;
for those who seek for love,
for those who wonder where their love went,
for those who are still waiting for their own louis vuitton!!!
As a clothes and fashion person, the runway was the one for me.. oh! and the wedding dresses although might personally skip the marriage part.

This is why I don't wonder Mr. Bigs panic at all. Life serioisly isn't a fairy tale. Everyone tries to find it ones in a while but sadly, the real life is always waiting around the corner. Why get stressed about "getting married"? Just have a big party!!!

I don't know if I've just happened to have the boyfriends AND boys as friends who are total assholes, as all this, I've seen before. So no suprises for me. This is why I actually did appreciate the film. It showed how it can really be.

Men sometimes don't need a reason to cheat because -listen to this- "it's a physical thing, we have to have sex"!!! And this has been told me by a malefriend, this is what they "belive" in.
Men (and women) do panic and leave their beatiful partners waiting for them at the altar too. Good taste was showb in this one though, noone ever got to the extreme embarasment point (lucky carrie).

And... It's just life.

And this is why I have started to appreciate what ever comes to me in everyday life. People so often forget it. No big hassle, no big plans, just "you and me", lovely clishe.

And seriously... Smith has never made to be anything too deep OR then he just reeeeaallly can't act! So what can you expect!!!!???
