im against it , as two wrongs dont make a right , also you have to consider miscarriages of justice , how awful would it be to part of a case when the wrong person is punished

There are some offences aimed specifically at juvenile offenders in which the Bible required them to be be executed: cursing parents, hitting a parent, or being stubborn or rebellious. Sometimes, a death penalty implemented on an adult guilty of a crime would also require his or her children to be executed, even though they were innocent of any crime. The sins of the fathers would be translated to the children.

my friends great great aunt narrowly missed being hanged for poisoning 3 husbands i think the death sentence was abolished about a week before her trial

Agree with natters: I'm against it. I reckon an effective punishment for Anti-social behaviour and vandalism would be to reintroduce the stocks and chuck rotten fruit & veg at the convicted sods! I think humiliation would be a greater deterrent than incarceration or death.

I agree with it where the facts are absolutely solid (Murderers, rapists and the like don't deserve to breathe the same air as law abiding people).
I DON'T KNOW EITHER, I DON'T THINK THERE IS ENOUGH PROOF EVEN WITH DNA EVIDENCE TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY SAY KILL THE ACCUSSED.
DNA EVIDENCE IN MY BOOK FAILS BECAUSE IT'S FAIRLY EASY TO GET YOUR OWN DNA EVERYWHERE. HAIRS FALL OUT, SPIT, SNOT ETC CAN BE AT ONE PLACE WHERE A CRIME IS COMMITED AND WOULD PUT YOU THERE EVEN IF IT WAS HOURS EARLY YOU WENT TO THE AREA WHERE THE CRIME WAS COMMITTED AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
I WAS TYPING A MORE INDEPTH STATEMENT BUT CAN'T WORD IT RIGHT. SO BYE

If we sentance someone to death are we any better then the killer? Yes the killer is maybe a monster, but maybe the person he killed was a monster too. So he/she kills a monster and then we do the same, are we monsters? We sentance them to death cause we say that we value human life above everything, but then we're quick to take it away too. I read that alot of killers on death row have been abused in someway as children and have suffered mentally, so this would make them victims too. The cost issue, aparently it costs more for an appeal (and i guess most people on death row want an appeal) then it costs to keep the person incarcerated for life. Some jury members are reluctant to convict in murder trials because of the possibility of executing an innocent person. Thus, many killers go free and are never punished.
But... how are we ever gonna feel safe knowing there are monsters out there, people who will kill because they are "broken" inside. Keep them in jail! people break out, and when does life in prison every mean life anyway?
Sorry just this is really bugging me now
