Turns out my poor cat is really sick. Took her to the vet today. She's got an enlarged right kidney which the vet thinks could be a tumour. Also taking her to the vet was so traumatic for her. She wailed one of those cat wails in the car. Got to take her for a scan and blood test on Monday.

for you and your cat

Our cat is 19 and his kidneys are failing, we are taking him to the vets next Thursday and not expecting the news to be good

aww veggie...it just goes to show what a lovely person you are..your cat is very ill and you are still offering comfort to others

Did you get the results of the blood test back yet?

She's got Lymphoma. Really bad news. She's ok for now, but he said she's going to get more poorly over the next couple of months. I'm pretty sad

She's had a happy little life with us though and so long as she's not too uncomfortable she'll carry on having a happy little life. I'll miss her though.

Hope that she can enjoy the time that's left.

You must be so upset, my first pet died a long long time ago but I can still remember how devastated I was, I was only 5. I now have a dog and know how I would feel if it were her being so ill. Hopefully your cat will pass peacefully without too much pain.

So sorry to hear your news. Make sure your little cat doesn't suffer though. You can't always tell when they are in pain. I lost a cat a few years ago to cancer of the jaw and I didn't know a thing about it until the cancer had grown so much that it actually broke her little jaw. There was nothing to see and she didn't appear to be in any pain but the vet said she must have been in agony. You can't always tell with a cat.

I still feel terrible about that.
